We have only four Premier League fixtures to keep us busy this weekend with two games scheduled for Saturday and a couple on Sunday. Top of the bill sees champions Manchester City take on West Ham at the Etihad Stadium from 4.30pm on Sunday, a match due to be shown live on Sky Sports. Who will come out on top? Will it be Pep Guardiola’s crew of the battling Londoners?
A Closer Look
Neither side carries the kind of form into this match that fills us with any real confidence, but Man City do have the better standard of player and enjoy home advantage. Bookies expect that to make all the difference on matchday, but The Hammers are no mere opponents and will make their hosts battle for any joy they get. If Man City are to win the points here, they will be made to earn it.
Manchester City enters game 26 of their season with stats reading 16 wins and three draws against six defeats. They are currently second in the table, 22 points behind runaway leaders Liverpool and two better than Leicester City who rates as the surprise package in third. City has drawn one and won three of their last five, but the defeat did come last time out when losing away to Tottenham in London. The emphasis is now on Man City winning the Champions League to save their season.
West Ham Needs Points
West Ham started the weekend in 18th with their stats of six wins and six draws against 13 defeats and a minus 13 goals difference dragging them into the relegation zone. They have taken only two of the last 15 points that was available to them but have drawn half of their last four.
