Premier League Tips: Weekend 19/10

Premier League Tips, Odds and Predictions 19/10

Chelsea – Man Utd

It’s time again to check out the next lot of Premier League tips for the coming weekend. Premier League football returns on Saturday following the international break. Eight matches are scheduled to take place from the English top-flight, six starting at 3.00pm. The curtain goes up at Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea host bitter rivals Manchester United in London from 12.30pm, live in front of the Sky Sports camera crew. The Blues go into round nine joint-top of the division on 20 points, alongside Man City and Liverpool.

Maurizio Sarri has made a fantastic start to life at the bridge and has the chance to lead his side to pole in front of their own fans. They remain unbeaten so far with their stats reading six wins against two draws. They were last spotted hammering Southampton, strolling to a 3-0 victory thanks to goals from Hazard, Barkley and Morata. Confidence is sky high in the home dressing room and bookmakers are keen to stay cozy with the locals.

Mourinho Needs Win Now More Than Ever

Pressure continues to build on Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho and his team sit down in eighth place, carrying a record of four wins, one draw and three defeats. They have managed just one of those victories in their last three, but it did come in their most recent start, recording a hard-fought 3-2 over struggling Newcastle United at the Theatre of Dreams.

Astonishingly, The Magpies went 2-0 up that evening thanks to goals from Kenedy and Muto inside 10 minutes. The locals were furious, but those who left early missed a stunning turnaround. 2-0 at half-time, it took United 70 minutes to register a goal, Mata halving the deficit. Game on. Martial notched an equaliser on 76 and there was 90 on the clock when Sanchez clipped home a jaw-dropping winner. What a fightback and fans will be hoping it’s the start of a winning run.

Blues Expected to Be Popular

Chelsea already have seven more points than their opponents and sit six places higher in the pecking order. That hasn’t gone unnoticed by bookmakers who have a home win chalked up as favourite with backers sitting their money on blue having to make do with Coral’s 7/10. Not enough to make you rich on its own but it’ll surely be popular in accumulators.

United line-up as outsiders of three in the match winner market with 4/1 available with most reputable firms, including Ladbrokes. A touch insulting to the visitors, but it’s difficult to argue against that stance. The draw has been deemed a more likely outcome, 3/1 when taking advantage of 888sport’s generosity.

Trends Could Prove Useful

Flicking through the stats we stumble across a useful trend that’s worth sticking with on Saturday. In the last six matches involving these sides one team has failed to find the net five times. That run includes a couple of 1-0 wins for Chelsea at this venue last season, in the Premier League and FA Cup. Avoiding the match result and backing no on the both to score coupon makes perfect sense at evens (Coral).

Those hoping for their stake money to work that bit harder can aim for a bigger price. In that same six-game period Chelsea have won to nil four times and that really leaps off the page at us. In the last five renewals, Chelsea 1-0 has popped up three times. Back the home win to nil at 19/10 or 1-0 6/1 – both with Ladbrokes.

Huddersfield – Liverpool

Huddersfield can be found down in the relegation zone, third-bottom of the pile having failed to win a match so far, 0-3-5. The Terriers, who were impressive for much of last term, lost three on the bounce before holding on for a share of the spoils going into the break, ending 1-1 away to Burnley.

Vokes broke the deadlock on 20 minutes but a late Schindler equaliser meant both managers had to settle for a draw. We’re sure David Wagner would’ve been the happier of the two with something to show for his efforts.

Liverpool are one of three unbeaten sides in the Premier League, having won six and drawn two. The Reds have hit 15 goals so far, conceding just three at the other end. Despite their form, Jurgen Klopp’s men have drawn each of their last two, following a 1-1 at Chelsea in September with a goalless finish when hosting Man City earlier this month.

Four points dropped but, over the course of the season, two tough fixtures to get anything from and fans will be more than happy, especially if they are able to claim wins in the return legs. There’s a real buzz about Liverpool at the moment.

It’ll Get Worse for Terriers Fans

Let’s keep things simple and remember we have a side who are yet to lose a game against an opponent without a win to their name so far. That pushes us towards the visitors, but bookmakers have beaten us to it and have Liverpool trading as odds-on favourites, 1/4 at Bet365. That’s tight but it’s actually one of the better prices around, some firms stuck at 1/5.

Huddersfield are a much more attractive quote at 12/1 (Ladbrokes) but that won’t attract too much attention, even amongst die-hard followers of the West Yorkshire team. A tough season lies ahead for Huddersfield and it’s about to get a whole lot worse on Saturday night. Liverpool -1 goal on the handicap merits our attention, Coral handing out 4/5.

Everton – Crystal Palace

Despite all the hype created and money spent over the course of the last three transfer windows, Everton continue to tread water and their start to the season has been little more than average. The Toffees have failed to win five of their first eight at this level but have claimed six points from their last two matches, beating Fulham and Leicester.

They sit 11th in the pile; however, consistency is needed if they are to move towards the prize places.

Palace spent much of last season in and around the relegation zone before pulling themselves clear down the home-straight. Those loyal to The Eagles are worried they’ll have to sit through the same again despite a summer of change.

Roy Hodgson knows the game inside-out, but he was powerless to stop his side losing each of their last two, going down at the hands of Bournemouth and Wolves – two sides they really should be beating. Seven points has them sitting 14th.

Home Advantage Makes the Difference

These are two clubs good enough to win the points if playing to the best of their abilities; however, punters never can tell what they’ll get from either. Everton have home advantage and coming off the back of a couple of wins that should give them the edge. Bookies think so and local cheer is 5/6 favourite with Coral, against the draw 12/5 and Palace 3/1.

We’ll settle for Everton to live up to expectations and complete a much-needed hat-trick, but if you were hoping for a bit more then we’re happy to offer it. Both teams have scored in three of the last four meetings, including home and away last season. Try your luck on both score and Everton win at 3/1 – top price with 888sport. Look around, you won’t find a more generous firm on that one.

Arsenal – Leicester

It would be fair to say Arsenal’s start has been rather hit-and-miss, but the signs suggest better times could be ahead and they have the chance to prove it when welcoming Leicester to Emirates Stadium on the highlight of Super Sunday.

The locals have won each of their last five to rise to fourth in the ladder, two points off Man City and they dealt out a 5-1 hammering to London rivals Fulham last time. Lacazette bagged a double, as did Aubameyang and there was also a goal bonus for Ramsey. Eight scored in two starts this month already – fans have every right to be optimistic.

Bookies predicted a tough season for Leicester and had manager Claude Puel as one of the favourites in the market to be the first manager sacked this season. To be fair, they have performed better than expected, winning four and losing four of their first eight.

The Foxes did suffer defeat two weeks ago, beaten 2-1 at Goodison Park against an Everton side who looked there for the taking pre-match. A win on Sunday could lift them to seventh, but it’s a big ask against a talented Arsenal and we’re not having it.

Decent Price Available on Gunners

Odds makers want nothing to do with opposing The Gunners and they make their feelings crystal clear when offering a home win at 11/20 (William Hill). That’s one for your multiples and it’s the best price you’ll find if taking Arsenal. It’s also a little better than we expected to find, given just how good they have been in recent weeks. We’re sure to see Arsenal included in a fair share of accas.

Unibet send out 62/17 the draw, again top offer, while Bet365 are unbeaten when giving 11/2 away day. Followers of the stats will be intrigued to learn Arsenal have won by at least two clear goals in each of their last six matches in all competitions. With that in mind we’ll take a poke at Arsenal -1 goal on the handicap at 13/10 (Coral).
