This is a bookmaker that is reasonably new to the scene. Originally 22bet was founded in 2017 with the aim of offering something a little different. The site was founded in Russia  and it has already had quite the impact. This is because it not only offers a fantastic live betting platform, but its odds are comparatively high. These two aspects, coupled, means that it is very appealing to new betting customers . As such, it is stealing competitors from more well-established sites.

This site may have started out in Russia and Russian speaking countries, but it is definitely out to change the UK market for the better. But aside from the high odds and great live betting, what else does it have to offer? In this 22bet review, we are going to see how it compares in full to all the other sites out there. As such, we’ll look at all the different areas of the site. Obviously, we’ll look at the safety and security of the site. However, we’ll also be looking at areas such as the sites different sports and markets as well as the quality and quantity of its bonuses and promotions. We will also look at its overall usability, in terms of design, mobile site/app, customer service, banking and more.

Market Offering

We were pleasantly surprised with the number of sports and markets the site had to offer. It has around forty different sports and hundreds of markets for all the most popular sports. As you would expect from any betting site, you can bet on all the most popular sports, such as football, horse racing and boxing. However, there are a number of lesser-known sports available including Pesapallo. In fact, should you wish, you could even bet on games such as chess. In popular sports, such as football, you can also bet on a number of leagues, such as Premier League, Championship League as well as other European and Worldwide leagues as well as international and national tournaments.

If you want to place a bet on the World Cup final, for example, then you’ll manage to find an impressive number of pre-match markets you can place your bets on. The bigger the game, the more markets to enjoy. Here are all the sports you can enjoy at 22bet:

American FootballAustralian FootballBandyBasketball

Figure SkatingFloorballFormula 1Futsal
GAAGolfGreyhoundsHandball
Horse RacingIce HockeyMMAMartial Arts
MotoGPMotor SportsNetballOlympic Games
PesipalloRugby LeagueRugby UnionSpeedway
SurfingSwimmingTelevisionTable Tennis
TennisTriathlonTrottingVolleyball
Water PoloWinter SportsPoliticsSpecials

As you can see from the above table, it’s not all just sports it has on offer. You can also bet on a number of eSports, including Counter Strike: GO, Dota 2, StarCraft II and more. You can also bet on political events from all over the world – including European, New Zealand, North Korea, USA, of course Great Britain and so many more. You can bet on ‘Next Country to invoke Article 50’, ‘Next Scottish Referendum’ and more.

If you want something more light-hearted, then you can bet on a number of TV programmes / Entertainment bets from around the world. You can bet on things like Christmas Number 1, Grammys, Academy Awards, Golden Raspberry Awards, YouTube specials, The Mandalorian and more. The choice is really rather impressive.

In-Play Betting

The number of live and in-play betting options available is decent. You have options to bet in-play on a number of sports such as tennis and football as well as volleyball and even basketball. All sports have a good number of in-play options and you will be able to place bets on more than just a match winner or windrawwin bet. The live betting has a whole section to itself. The live sports are at the centre of the page. You can choose the sport from the scrollable menu above it. Furthermore, the top matches are listed down the left side of the screen. Further down , you can search live events in the search bar.

When in the match you are looking for, you can access up-to-date statistics, such as 1st serve winning, aces, double faults etc. for tennis, or corners, cards, shots on targets etc. for football. It’s not the most attractive and we have seen more impressive looking live betting sections, but the amount on offer is hard to argue with.

As is the case with most newer sportsbooks, live streaming is not yet available on this site. A number of people do like the freedom of having live streaming as it means you can watch the match / fight / game you have bet on without having to pay over the odds for a channel subscription or Pay Per View amount. Live streaming allows punters to watch whatever they have bet on and see the action live. Hopefully this might be something they add in the future as this could benefit the site further.

Odds

One of the biggest challenges faced by new sportsbooks is being able to compete with bigger and older sportsbook when it comes to the odds prices. However, when we compared the odds for the bigger football matches, we saw that they were very much in line with other bigger and more well-established bookmakers such as Ladbrokes, so we were pleasantly surprised. Obviously there were some with more competitive odds, but on the whole they were able to hold their own.

One thing we did note though, that was very good, was the number of ways in which you could access the odds. Although the default is set as decimal odds, you can change the setting to US moneyline, UK fractional and even get the odds for Hong Kong,  Indonesia and Malaysia. This is very unusual as generally you just have the three options.

Welcome Bonus

Welcome bonuses tend to vary a lot in size and generosity. This can be a big factor in whether you choose to go with a bookie or not. However, it’s not just the size that counts, it’s also the terms and conditions attached. A huge bonus with T&Cs impossible to fulfill is pointless. So, what about the 22bet welcome bonus? Well, at first glance it’s pretty generous – at 100% up to £50. Simply put, sign up and make your first deposit into your account and the bookmaker will match that amount up to £50 in bonus funds. However, it is bonus funds, so you need to be aware of what that means, and the terms attached to that money.

Getting the bonus is simple. Simply register at 22bet, make your deposit of £10 or more and enter the code 50SPORT. You will then receive a bonus equal to your deposit amount up to a maximum £50. Your first bet must be on odds of 1.65 or more and made within 30 days of depositing. The activated bonus must be wagered 10-times, which is quite steep. There are a number of terms attached so do be sure to read all of the small print before making your deposit and claiming the bonus, or you might find yourself getting a few unexpected surprises.

Cashback

The cashback offer applies to all 22bet customers, whether you are betting on sports or in the 22bet casino. On order to claim the cashback, your deposits cannot be made using Neteller or Skrill. You will then be rewarded with up to 7% cashback every Saturday, depending on your gambling history.  All real money losses will be based on your activity during the week. Furthermore, it will be credited to your account as real money, not bonus money. It is withdrawable and there are no wagering requirements. Be sure to check al the terms ands conditions on the promotion page.

Other Offers

During your time on the site there will be other offers available. This could very much depend on the time of year or what sporting events are happening. Always check the promotion page to keep up to date and make sure you don’t miss out on everything that is on offer.

Security & Regulation

When you join a betting site, you really need to make sure that you know that it is totally safe, secure and fully regulated. The most important thing when betting in the UK is that the site has been regulated and licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. This means that it has been held to the highest standards and that your money is in safe hands.  That is the case with 22bet. They are fully regulated and licensed by the most well-respected governing body in the industry So, you can be assured that you are totally safe and secure here. Furthermore, this is a transparent and fair site that abides by all the regulations and rules.

Aside from that, 22bet makes sure that your personal and finance data is safe. Any online transaction comes with a certain amount of risk. However, the risk here is minimal. The company employs the best SSL encryption, which means that your personal and financial information is as safe as possible. It will stop hackers getting hold of your info and using it for other purposes. Furthermore, there s a firewall used by the site to make sure that it is protected from viruses and malware.

As well as this, the site is connected to the Gaming Laboratories International which provides world class testing, certification and professional services to the industry. This means that all aspects of the site are tried, tested and certified as fair. Furthermore, it is linked to the GamStop and BeGambleAware, Responsible Gambling companies which means you always have access to help if you feel that you are losing control of your gambling habits.

Banking Options

The number of banking options available on the site is very impressive and you are sure to be able find a means to pay and withdraw that suits you. In fact, when faced with the options you might even find them all a bit overwhelming. Obviously, there are the most common forms of payments – including Visa, MasterCard and e-Wallets such as Neteller or Skrill. However, there are much lesser-known payment methods. In fact, you can even use cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. Here is a full list of all the options available to you:

VisaMasterCardNeteller
SkrillEcoPayzePay.bg
EntropaySofortPerfect Money
E-VouchersJeton WalletPayeer
SepaCryptocurrenciesSteam
Bank wire TransferMaestroBoku
PaysafecardWord PayQiwi

As a newish online bookmaker, it’s vital to have a number of payment methods and they really do. You need to be able to offer more than bank cards. EWallets are always a popular option, and these are available here, although it doesn’t offer PayPal, which is a shame. We were impressed by the inclusion of cryptocurrencies, however, as these are growing in popularity

The minimum deposit for most forms of payment is £1, expect Paysafecard, which is £10. The minimum withdrawal varies on the method chosen. It ranges from £1.50 to £10. All deposits are instant, and withdrawals are very quick indeed. Some, such as Paysafecard, can take just a few minutes. However, do be prepared for KYC checks which can slow down the process on occasions. Furthermore, they accept a wide number of currencies including: AUD, GBP, DEK, EUR, SEK, USD and many more.

Customer Service

In fairness, this wasn’t the best site in terms of customer service. We were a little disappointed as this is an important part of any betting site. It appears that they do offer a live chat. However, the few times we tried to use it, it wasn’t working properly, which was disappointing as we see live chat as the best form of contact. However, they do have several email addresses you can use for different departments – [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected]. From any of these emails, you should get a reply within 24 hours.

There is also an FAQ section that promises to answer the most common questions on aspects such as your account issues, payments, withdrawals, betting and bonuses. It isn’t the most in-depth FAQ section we have come across, but it is sufficient for more common queries.

User Experience

We found the website to look very attractive and was laid out in a very simple and clear way. Although it does have a casino, its default homepage is the sports page. However, at the top you can reach other areas of the site such as Live, Casino, Payments, Bonuses, Log In and Registration. Here, you can even choose one of many different languages. Below that you can choose Virtual Sports, Statistics, Results, App and Odds. To the left of the screen you can see all the popular leagues as well as a list of the sports. To the right, there is a bet slip and popular league games.  The centre of the page allows you to see all your choices in full. It is very easy to navigate; however, it would be good to add a search bar as it would speed up the process even more.

To make a bet, simply locate your match/game and click on the option you would like to pick. Then add your stake. This will then be added to your bet slip and you can see what your return would be. Then, as long as there are sufficient funds in your account, your bet will go through.

If you wish to add money to your account, simply click on your account and choose your method of payment, then follow the instructions.

Overall, we found betting on the site very simple and quickly. It wasn’t too crowded, and we could find our way around quickly.

Mobile Experience

Any new betting site worth its salt will offer you a way to have a great experience on mobile as well as on desktop. The 22bet app and mobile site is very good as we expected. Obviously, you can access all of the sports and betting options available to you. You can find all of the leagues and sports at the touch of a button. The menu is easy to use and the swipeable screen makes moving around very easy. You can also access the casino and live casino if you desire. Finding your bet and adding it to your bet slip is as easy on mobile as  desktop, which is vital now as most bets are made on mobile.

Furthermore, all other aspects of the site are easy to navigate. You can access your account and make deposits and withdrawals with ease. You can even get hold of customer services and email them via mobile. Furthermore, it looks attractive ad stylish making it pleasant and easy to use. This is definitely a big thumbs up and is great for any bettors that prefer to make their money whilst on the move.

Conclusion:
Overall, we liked 22Bet very much as a new sportsbook and feel that it has huge potential. It is improving all the time and is starting to add new services and sports regularly. The number of sports on offer is very impressive, as are the number of other non-sporting events you can find to bet on. The in-play was also good, but eventually we’d like to see the addition of live streaming. We were also very impressed by the vast number of banking methods available, especially Bitcoin, although we would like to see PayPal. It was very quick with withdrawals though, which is a huge plus. The welcome bonus was rather generous, but we would also like to see more promotions added to keep up with others. Furthermore, the odds and prices available are generally very good. The customer service does need some improvements and we would like to see an improved live chat and maybe the addition of phone. All in all, it’s a good sportsbook, very diverse and is improving all the time.
