Dec 26 Premier League Betting Tips & Predictions

Fulham v Wolves Betting Tips

Welcome to Boxing Day 2018 and a Merry Christmas from us all at your favourite sports betting tipster site. The first of our Dec 26 Premier League Betting Tips is Fulham v Wolves. We have nine games for you from the English Premier League and it looks a great way to help cover the month’s expenses with a winning bet. Who knows? With a few shrewd calls you may even land a winning accumulator that’ll boost your bank balance in time for New Year. You deserve to end on a high and that’s why we’ve asked our team of football experts to put down the reheated turkey dinner and preview the day’s biggest matches.

Fulham are at home and will be hoping to continue the improvement that has been evident under new manager Claudio Ranieri. The man who will be forever known as the boss that led Leicester to the league title has a real job on his hands guiding The Cottagers to safety; however, there’s little doubt he has the knowledge to do just that. We expect him to be backed in the winter transfer window by his board. It’s likely that would’ve been one of his conditions when asked to answer the SOS and take the job on. This looks a great chance to bank three much-needed points.

Wolves Capable of Better

Wolves exploded out of the traps this season and were threatening to gate-crash the major places during the first few weeks; however, it didn’t take long for reality to set in and last season’s Championship winners quickly went off the boil. A run of dropped points had them heading south. Many predicted their good work would be undone and they’d soon be dragged into the danger area; however, credit to the team, they were able to steady the ship and get their campaign back on track.

Back-to-back defeats at the hands of Huddersfield and Cardiff meant they ended November on a real low. However, a couple of wins in their first two December starts pushed them back up the pecking order. That began with a stunning 2-1 win at home to Chelsea on 5 December; this result was achieved thanks to goals from Jiminez and Jota, fighting back to beat a blues side who had opened the scoring through Loftus-Cheek early in the contest. The victors then left St James Park with all three points; Jota scored before Doherty added a 94th minute winner to sink The Magpies and send his fans into overdrive. It was a stunning finish to a great match. Bookies such as Coral have priced Wolves at 5/4.

Back the Home Team

These teams shared the Championship last season where their fortunes were very different over the course of the campaign. That has also been true of this term; however, the head-to-head stats show Fulham have more than held their own against Wolves over the years. They even claimed a stunning 2-0 win at this venue back in February of this year. Sessegnon and Mitrovic were the scorers that day. That result followed a 2-0 win for Wolves on their own patch last November.

Followers of the stats will be interested to know that the team playing at home has won three of the last five meetings of these sides; one of the two spares ended in a 4-4 draw. Back the home win as a super single or follow the recent trends and take no in the both teams to score market if you’d prefer to sit on the fence. That can be used in your accumulators and, given the time of year, we’re expecting a low-key 90 minutes. An individual error or piece of brilliance should be the difference between these rivals. The home team have been given odds of 11/5 at Bet365, with the draw at 9/4.

Our Tip: Wolves to win – 9/4 at Coral

Leicester v Man City Betting Tips

Leicester won’t be forcing their way back to the top of the Premier League any time soon; in fact, it’s doubtful they’ll get anywhere near the prize places this term with a poor start to the campaign; this means a top-10 finish looks to be their best hope of achieving anything of note. They were slow out of the traps, so sluggish in fact bookies had Claude Puel marked up as favourite to be the first manager to lose his job. Thankfully for the gaffer and supporters of The Foxes he has been able to turn things around; since then, a run of impressive results has pushed them clear of the danger below. Leicester went on an unbeaten run that has allowed them to look upwards.

That purple patch included a number of draws however; that would suggest they are happy to make themselves difficult to beat and aim to pick opponents off on the break. They came very close to losing to Fulham at Craven Cottage recently with former hero Claudio Ranieri sat in the home dugout after taking charge of the Cottagers. Kamara opened the scoring for the struggling Londoners and they looked on-course for the points; hoever, they were cruelly pegged back by Maddison who levelled things up on 74 minutes. That hard-fought draw was followed by a painful 2-0 home defeat when Tottenham came calling on 8 December. Leicester are certainly not favourites to win against Man City and have been given odds of 3/10 at Bet365.

Cityzens Suffer First Defeat

Man City were top of the league and looking every inch a side capable of defying the odds and winning two titles on the bounce; however, they eventually lost their proud unbeaten record when going down to a determined Chelsea side at Stamford Bridge earlier this month. A result very few people predicted. It allowed Liverpool to pass the champions in the pecking order and move into pole position; however, manager Pep Guardiola didn’t dwell on it. The experienced gaffer told members of the press at the end he was proud of his team’s efforts.

This was nothing more than a speedbump in the road; no one expected them to win every match and walk one of Europe’s most competitive divisions. Losing matches isn’t vitally important over the course of the season, it’s how teams respond to defeat that will determine if they are good enough to be champions. We have little doubt last season’s winners have enough character to push Liverpool all the way. December is always an important month and we’ll see how things lie going into new year; however, bookies still have them as favourites to retain their crown. Bookies think Man City will come back fighting, with odds of 3/10 at Bet365; the draw is priced at 19/4 at the same firm.

Back an Entertaining Away Win

This should be an entertaining match and we expect Leicester to put up a fair fight; however, it really doesn’t pay to oppose Man City too often and we won’t be taking them on here. Back both teams to score in an away win as a super single at odds of 39/20 at 888sport; or you could add it in to a multiple with two or three similar selections to give you a crack at a chunky pay-out. You could even add it to the accumulator of the day.

Checking the stats and these teams played three times last season; with Man City won two and drew one. Both teams scored in each of the last two meetings and we saw City run riot back in February in the Premier League, blasting their way to a stunning 5-1 at the Etihad. This renewal shouldn’t be as emphatic, but the outcome should be the same – a few goals and Man City win.

Our tip: Man City to win BTTS – 39/20 at 888sport

Liverpool v Newcastle Betting Tips

This remains one of English football’s best-loved Premier League fixtures and we’re hoping that, despite the day, the teams put on a show. Liverpool went top of the league earlier this month and snuck through to the knockout stages of the Champions League in what was a difficult pool. Confidence is sky high. Newcastle, on the other hand, lost to West Ham and Wolves at home, two games they should be winning.

The form makes this a strong home win and that’s the way we’ll play it. We also expect to see Liverpool added into a lot of accumulators of the day. Fancy goals? This fixture is always good value for a few and we say back over 2.5 in the total goals market. Another bet best suited to multiples. The sides played out a 2-2 draw in one of their last meetings at this venue.

Our tip: Over 2.5 goals – 4/9 at Ladbrokes

Watford v Chelsea Betting Tips

A London derby match to enjoy. Although we expect it to be tight, we can’t write off a Chelsea side who scored that emphatic win over Man City recently to ruin the Champions’ unbeaten season just before Christmas. They may be on the road, but we’re taking the blues to fire their way to another maximum and keep pace with the top-four race.

This is another game that promises goals and in the two times the neighbours met last season we had a combined 11 goals. A 4-2 Chelsea win at Stamford Bridge was followed by a stunning 4-1 Watford upset back in February of this year. The visitors are a better side now than they were then and revenge will be on the cards.

If you want to stick with the trends, we’d say back both teams to score or take a chance and wager your stake money on over 3.5 goals for an interest. Those confident we’re on the right track with our preview can try both teams to score in a Chelsea win and that will certainly put a smile on your face.

Our Tip: Over 3.5 goals  – 2/1 at Unibet
