April 13 Ligue 1 Betting Tips & Predictions

Marseille v Nimes

The first of our April 13 Ligue 1 betting tips is for Marseille v Nimes.  Marseille entered the week winless in their last three, that drought made up of two defeats and a draw. They lost last time out and home fans will demand better as they look to get back on-track and push themselves into contention for a top-four finish in Ligue 1. To give themselves the best chance of doing that they must win here but we expect them to get the desired result at 8/15 (Ladbrokes).

Papering Over Cracks

Nimes can be found in midtable and are another side who haven’t given their supporters much to shout about in recent weeks, losing three and drawing one of their last five. The spare victory did come a week ago, but it wasn’t enough to paper over the cracks and we have no intention of backing them to double up at Unibet’s 5/1.

Our Tip: Marseille to win – 8/15 at Ladbrokes

Caen v Angers

Four defeats in their last five has pulled Caen down to second bottom of the table and they are now on their way to relegation, barring a late turnaround in fortunes. The locals are eight points off Amiens and safety and with the latter showing signs of improvement, the writing looks to be on the wall. A bet on the home win doesn’t appeal to us, even at 21/10, top price at Unibet.

Good Run

Angers rate as an easier team to back and they travel for this game on the back of a decent run of form that has seen them draw each of their last five. Picking up points and avoiding defeat is their strategy to avoid being sucked into the relegation war going on below and it has proven to be a shrewd call. Another draw will do for us, priced 2/1 by Bet365. The home win is 6/4 jolly.

Our Tip: A draw – 2/1 at Bet365

Dijon v Amiens

Three defeats in four sucked Dijon into the relegation zone and they are now one point better than bottom club Guingamp and seven behind safety. That will worry all in the home dressing room, but they did bag a vital win last time and the double would give them a chance of escaping. This is a must win for the home side and traders have them as favourites, priced 7/5 by Bet365.

Staying Up

Amiens know if they can take at least a point from this match they will go some way to securing their place in the division for another season. They are unbeaten in five with that purple patch made up of four draws and a win. They have finished level in each of their last three and would surely accept another share from this one. That’s our bet and it’s available at 2/1 with Bet365, the home cheer an 11/5 poke when betting with the same firm.

Our Tip: A draw – 2/1 at Bet365

Monaco v Reims

Monaco have lost just one of their last five Ligue 1 starts but that does nothing to paper over the cracks of what has been a disastrous season. They start this match sitting down in 16th, two places better than the relegation zone, with seven more points on the board. A full house here would see them take a leap to safety, and we’ve got to go with that. Back the home win at 17/20 (888sport).

Top Four Finish

Reims sit sixth and have suffered one defeat in five, but they have bagged just one win in the same period as they slow to a halt this season. That’s surprising as they have every chance of nailing a top-four finish this term with Saint-Etienne in fourth just three points better off at last count. Winless in two, we’re hesitant to trust the away win and bookies have them as 3/1 (Bet365) outsiders.

Our Tip: Monaco to win – 17/20 at 888sport

Strasbourg v Guingamp

Strasbourg look to have been handed a golden opportunity to add three points and boost their chances of finishing in the top-half of the division. They have a home match against bottom of the league Guingamp and set-up with the confidence that comes from a four-game unbeaten run. Going into the week they had drawn three and won one of four and another share is 11/5 with Bet365. We’re going to take a chance on that as it’s a better price than expected.

Sinking Fast

The bottom club in the Ligue 1 table are sinking fast and have claimed just one win in five, that period also showing two draws and a couple of defeats. They are eight points off safety and unless they win this match they can start to plan for next season in the lower division. Backing Guingamp is a costly business this season, so we won’t be tempted by Unibet’s 14/5.

Our Tip: A draw – 11/5 at Bet365

Montpellier v Toulouse

The locals have lost two of their last three, but they are in no danger this season and will play out the campaign aiming to hold on to a top-10 finish. They will be aiming to make home advantage count as they target three points and Bet365 traders have the locals chalked up as 17/20 favourites. The draw may appeal to value hunters at 23/10 with the same firm.

Avoiding Relegation

Toulouse have lost only one of their last four league games and that has moved them nine points clear of the relegation zone, which will be enough to see them avoid the scrap going on below. Despite coming in on the back of a battling win, the away day is a chunky 18/5 at Unibet. That’s appealing, but we’ll sit on the fence and back the draw as a single.

Our Tip: A draw – 23/10 at Bet365

Rennes v Nice

The last of our April 13 Ligue 1 betting tips is for Rennes v Nice. Without the added pressure of a European run, Rennes can concentrate fully on their Ligue 1 campaign and they go into this fixture with one win and three draws in their last five. They won’t bother the prize places this season but can secure a top-half finish if they hold their form. Rennes are 4/5 at Ladbrokes and that’s a bet for your accumulators.

Play Leapfrog

Nice are three places higher in the table than their hosts going into the week and have five more points on the board. That means, if Rennes want to leapfrog their opponents, they simply have to win this, while Nice would see the value in a draw. The share is 13/5, an away win 15/4, both quotes taken from the bet365 site.

Our Tip: Rennes to win – 4/5 at Ladbrokes
