April 28 Ligue 1 Betting Tips & Predictions

It’s time for our April 28 Ligue 1 betting tips and predictions. There are some top games this weekend – with Marseilles v Nantes being one to watch. Check out our top predictions…

Ligue 1 Top Tips

Bordeaux v Lyon

Lowly Bordeaux enjoy home advantage but have lost each of their last two Ligue 1 matches and that looks set to become three when paired with high-flying Lyon on Friday night. The visitors have won three of their last five, including their most recent outing, and can be backed with confidence. Bookies make them favourite, with Unibet offering a generous 8/11, while most firms  go 8/13. Bordeaux stand at 9/2 (Bet365), the draw 14/5 (Ladbrokes).

Our Tip: Lyon to win – 8/11 at Unibet

Amiens v Strasbourg

The first from a jam-packed Sunday schedule and the draw jumped off the page at us when trawling through the form of both teams involved here. Amiens are fighting for their lives and need every point they can get their hands on. They have finished level in four of their last five and that has given them a four-point advantage over Dijon in the relegation zone.

Strasbourg have drawn three of five and that pushes us towards another share at 12/5 with William Hill. Backing a share isn’t for everyone, with many preferring to take a punt and pick a team to win. Amiens are 23/20 favourite at Ladbrokes or there’s an interesting 23/10 through Unibet on the visitors silencing the home crowd and leaving with all three points.

Our Tip: A draw – 12/5 at William Hill

Angers v Reims

This is another fixture where we just can’t seem to separate the teams involved and the form tells us to take up position on the fence and grab the value about a draw. Neither have too much to play for between now and the finish line and that shows in their recent results. The locals drew three on the bounce recently, while their opponents have taken a point from two of their last three. The draw looks a shrewd punt at 21/10 (Bet365). Prefer to pick sides? The betting has Angers as 6/4 favourites with Bet365, the away day 9/5 with Ladbrokes.

Our Tip: A draw – 21/10 at Bet365

Caen v Dijon

Followers of French football have a fascinating contest on their hands here as two of the bottom-three take a final roll of the dice to save their skin. The winner will remain in with a chance of beating the drop, while the loser should start planning for life in the lower division. Both won last time out and this is a tricky one to call, but we’re going for the big game experience of Dijon to shine through at 15/8 – best price at Bet365. That’s value in what looks a 50/50 shoot-out. The draw is difficult to ignore at 21/10 (Bet365), an away win 17/10 favourite with Ladbrokes.

Our Tip: Dijon to win – 15/8 at Bet365

Lille v Nimes

Lille are unbeaten in four and a strong finish to the season, while teams around them have been less convincing, ensures they will end as best of the rest behind runaway winners PSG. It’s unlikely they will face too much of a threat at home against weaker opposition and we’re more than happy to add the locals to our betting tips at 8/15 with Ladbrokes. Perfect for accumulators. Nimes are 11/2 at Bet365 to spoil the party, a draw there at 3/1.

Our Tip: Lille to win – 8/15 at Ladbrokes

Nice v Guingamp

Guingamp are rooted to the foot of Ligue 1 and will be relegated at the end of the season, that much has been obvious for quite some time now. Just five wins managed from 33 starts leaves them eight points off safety and they’ve taken just two of the last dozen available to them, which hasn’t helped their chances any. Nice will enjoy sticking the boot in on their own patch and can be backed at a simply stunning 21/20 with Ladbrokes. That’s bigger than we expected to see. Bet365 have the draw best at 11/5, with the same firm giving an away win at 3/1.

Our Tip: Nice to win – 21/20 at Ladbrokes

St Etienne v Toulouse

The visitors appear to have done enough to beat the drop after taking four points from their last three games. They now have nothing to play for and should return to winning ways when visiting a rival who has won four of five and is pushing for a top-three finish and the Champions League football that comes with it. The home win is an easy pick at 8/15 with Ladbrokes. Perfect for weekend European football multiples. There’s 3/1 on the draw or a market best price of 11/2 available if backing Toulouse to cause an upset at Bet365.

Our Tip: St Etienne to win – 8/15 at Ladbrokes

Marseille v Nantes

You can follow this match live on BT Sport from 8.00pm on Sunday night and it looks a great addition to the sporting schedule with followers likely to get their fair share of drama during the 90 minutes of play. Marseille have won each of their last two league starts to keep alive their hopes of smashing their way into the top-three late in the campaign and they start the week just five points behind Lyon in third, although time is running out. They can be trusted to keep their name in the hat at a decent enough 8/15 – market best price offered by Ladbrokes. That looks to be on the generous side about a home side playing with form. We’ll take the locals as a super single for interest stakes.

Nantes stand much lower in the pecking order, but they too go in with the confidence that comes from a recent winning run and will board the team bus for this trip having claimed each of the nine points that were available in their last three goes. That late season surge has driven them to 13th and they can now play with the freedom that comes with having nothing to worry about, Nantes securing their place in Ligue 1 for another season with a bit to spare.

Despite their form, bookies have been quick to write off the chances of an away win and offer 13/2 – top price at Bet365 – on the upset. There’s sure to be plenty of interest in that amongst value hunters. Can’t split them? You can get your hands on the draw at 16/5 with William Hill – priced 14/5 with other major firms.

Our Tip: Marseille to win – 8/15 at Ladbrokes
