ATP Miami Open Quarter Betting Tips

The 2019 Miami Open has been an instant hit in Florida with the action at the newly-built Hard Rock Stadium living up to the spectacular surroundings it has been played in. With qualifying completed and the main draw action starting to take shape, attention turns to the bigger names in the draw and which quarter will prevail in the star-studded draw. Here are our ATP Miami Open quarter betting tips.

Quarter Betting Miami Open Predictions:

Quarter 1:

World number 1 Novak Djokovic continues to blaze a trail at the top of the men’s game and despite his poor showing at Indian Wells last time out, the Serb looks well placed here in Miami. He has won the event on six previous occasions and he will be keen to make it 7 here.

Djokovic, the all-conquering Serbian, is 8/11 with Ladbrokes to progress from the top quarter of the draw. Elsewhere in a star-studded first quarter, Milos Raonic is one of the form men on the ATP Tour and tends to enjoy the quicker court surfaces in the calendar. He has reached the last 8 or better in both the Australian Open and Indian Wells in recent months and looks a good bet at 5/1 with Bet365 to progress from quarter 1.

The number 7 seed John Isner is the defending champion here in Miami and despite not having any form to speak of in 2019 – his big-serving ability always causes problems for his opponents. He may find it tough against the likes of Djokovic and Raonic but at 7/1 with BetBright, he will fancy his chances of causing an upset.

Australian Open semi-finalist Lucas Pouille has hit the ground running in 2019 and whilst he looks to have a tough draw – he is more than capable of stalling the big-servers and at 16/1 with 888sport to reach the last 4, he could be the value outside bet in a congested quarter.

Top Pick for Quarter 1: Novak Djokovic – 8/11 – Ladbrokes.

Quarter 2:

Number 3 seed Dominic Thiem is the form player on the ATP Tour and his victory at Indian Wells last time out looks to be career-defining. He heads the next generation on the ATP Tour and how he would like to back up that win with another triumph here.

Thiem is 13/10 with BetHard to win the second quarter and reach the semi-finals. Japanese superstar Kei Nishikori is once again forging a route up the rankings on the ATP Tour and his performances in 2019 have been consistent once more. He has reached the final of this event before and at 5/2 with MansionBet to win the quarter, ‘Special K’ could be the intelligent punt.

Croatian youngster Borna Coric enjoyed a terrific breakthrough year on the ATP Tour last season and he will be looking to back that up here. Despite no tournament wins as yet this term, he is one to watch and looks overpriced at 6/1 with Royal Panda to reach the last 4.

Enigmatic Australian Nick Kyrgios continues to grab the headlines on the ATP Tour – on and off court and he will be looking to make news on the court this week. He is tucked away in a congested draw but at 16/1 with TonyBet he could be a strategic outside punt this week to reach the semi-finals.

Top Pick for Quarter 2: Dominic Thiem – 13/10 –BetHard.

Quarter 3:

Number 4 seed Roger Federer has once again demonstrated that he is more than capable of dining at the top table on the ATP Tour and he will be the man to beat once more this week. He reached the final at Indian Wells last time out and looks the strong favourite at Evens with Bet-at-Home to progress from the third quarter.

South African superstar Kevin Anderson has struggled for rhythm and form in recent times but has a habit of turning it on for the big occasions. He will always be one to watch in any draw and at 7/2 with Betsson, he could be a shrewd move for punters here.

Stan Wawrinka has struggled with injuries in recent seasons but the three-time Grand Slam winner will be looking to put down a marker here in Miami. He is seeded 30th so will have to do things the hard way but he is more than capable at this level and looks overpriced at 7/1 with BetBright to reach the last 4.

Russian hotshot Karen Khachanov triumphed at Masters Level in Paris last November and looks to have all the hallmarks of a future great. He has broken into the world’s top 10 players and will be a serious contender in Florida this week. He looks an enticing bet at 9/1 with Betfred to reach the semi-finals in Miami for the first time.

Top Pick for Quarter 3: Roger Federer – Evens – Bet-at-Home.

Quarter 4:

World number 3 Alexander Zverev finds himself seeded two in Miami and he will be looking to put down a marker for 2019 here. He has no form to speak of thus far this season and will be keen to put that right here in an open quarter. He is currently 5/2 with Coral to reach the last 4 this week.

Stefanos Tsitsipas has been the story of 2019 thus far, with deep runs in Dubai, Indian Wells and Australian Open propelling him to number 8 in the rankings here. The Greek superstar looks well placed at 4/1 with Unibet to make an assault on the draw here.

Another man that is sure to be backed by the Miami crowd is Marin Cilic. The big-serving Croat will be looking for his results to improve quickly but he is more than capable of troubling some of his younger counterparts in the bottom quarter and at 7/1 with Ladbrokes, he could be a very smart punt to reach the semi-finals this week.

Frances Tiafoe is another player to have impressed so far this season and he looks well set to make an assault on the established order of men’s tennis and at the tender age of 21. He is a relative outsider in Miami, from 28th seed but he could be worth backing at 18/1 with William Hill to progress from the bottom quarter.

Top Pick for Quarter 4: Stefanos Tsitsipas – 4/1 – Unibet.
