August 3 Horse Racing Betting Tips & Predictions

The 2019 renewal of the ever-popular Stewards’ Cup takes place at Goodwood on Saturday afternoon as part of what has already been a stunning week of horse racing. Here are our top August 3 horse racing betting tips.

A Closer Look

We’ve seen our fair share of big priced winner and bookie bashing but fear not if you’ve missed the profits so far as there’s still plenty of time to get your share.

The Stewards Cup is a six furlongs Heritage Handicap and a bumper prize pot means the best in the business are out to lay claim, with over £155,000 promised to connections of the winning horse. We saw Gifted Master win for Palmer and Watson last year. The antepost field was a packed one with over 80 horses in the running but that number was reduced significantly in the various declarations stages and what we are left with is a competitive list.

Bookies Not Sure

Bookmakers have had their say on who should come out on top here and are throwing the weight of their support behind early market leader Ballyquin, although there’s nothing convincing about the betting at present with joint favourites and no more than two betting points between the first five in the list. Ballyquin and Boy In The Bar have both been priced as 10/1 jolly with William Hill.

We’ll take advantage of that indecisiveness and shoot for King Robert who has a 12/1 price tag attached by the traders at William Hill, making them market best price. If you follow our thinking be sure to bet at Hills as other firms are much shorter. Each-way backers will benefit from place terms of 1/5 the odds the best five finishers and we’d advise grabbing that with both hands.

Our Tip: King Robert – 3.40pm Goodwood at 12/1 with William Hill
