Semi Final Preview
Both the male and female draws are down to just 4 at the Australian Open 2020 with the usual thrills and spills in Melbourne providing great entertainment along the way.
The women’s draw has seen defending champion Naomi Osaka and 23 time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams fall by the wayside as the likes of Ashleigh Barty and Simona Halep have excelled.
Whilst in the men’s draw, the usual big names in Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer have survived scares to make it to the last 4 whilst the next generation looks to threaten in the form of Alexander Zverev.
Here are our Australian Open Semi Final predictions:

Match Betting:
Ashleigh Barty vs Sofia Kenin
Odds:
Ashleigh Barty – 1/3 (William Hill)
Sofia Kenin – 2/1 (Bet-at-Home)
Home favourite Ashleigh Barty will be desperate to kick on to her maiden Australian Open final when she takes on American Sofia Kenin. Barty has been in fine form throughout the fortnight and her win over Petra Kvitova in the last round was testament to that. Kenin meanwhile is in her maiden Grand Slam semi-final and she will be keen to upset the Australian party here.
Head to Head
Barty holds a comfortable 4:1 lead in the head to head over Kenin, with her most recent win coming at the Wuhan Open last year.
Top Match Bet
Sofia Kenin has enjoyed a great tournament, but Ashleigh Barty should get the job done here in front of the passionate Melbourne crowd.
Ashleigh Barty to win the match 2 sets to 0 – Evens with 10bet.

Match Betting:
Simona Halep vs Garbine Muguruza
Odds:
Simona Halep – 8/13 (888sport)
Garbine Muguruza – 5/4 (MansionBet)
A battle of two former Grand Slam champions looks set to light up Rod Laver Arena as Simona Halep takes on Garbine Muguruza. Both women have been highly impressive in their runs to the last 4 and have only dropped 2 sets between them in reaching this stage. Halep, who is the defending Wimbledon champion – has never been this far in Melbourne whilst Muguruza will see her ranking climb once more after starting this event unseeded.
Head to Head
Simona Halep leads the head to head between the two players 2:1.
Top Match Bet
Calling this one is incredibly tough with both women in such good form and possessing the knowledge of how to win a Grand Slam.
3 sets to be played in the match – 6/4 with Bwin.

Match Betting:
Roger Federer vs Novak Djokovic
Odds:
Novak Djokovic – 1/7 (Ladbrokes)
Two of the greatest ever players in the men’s game face off in Melbourne once more with a place in the Australian Open final at stake. Novak Djokovic has enjoyed a serene run to the last 4, looking at ease as he chases an 8th Melbourne title. Roger Federer meanwhile has endured tough 5 set clashes with John Millman and Tennys Sandgren but has come through and he is pursuing a 7th Australian Open title.
Head to Head
This will be the 50th meeting between the two men with Djokovic holding an astonishing 26:23 lead over the Swiss legend.
Top Match Bet
The effects of the week are sure to take their toll on Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic should exploit that here and progress with relative ease.

Match Betting:
Dominic Thiem vs Alexander Zverev
Odds:
Dominic Thiem – 10/11 (Ladbrokes)
Alexander Zverev – 6/5 (TonyBet)
Two great friends face off for a place in the Australian Open final as the next generation look to be finally stepping up on the ATP Tour. Dominic Thiem has been in fine form all week, dispatching of Rafael Nadal and Gael Monfils whilst Zverev has been equally impressive – knocking out Stan Wawrinka and Andrey Rublev. This promises to be an incredible battle with very little to choose between the two men.
Head to Head
This will be the 9th meeting between the two men with Thiem holding a healthy 6:2 lead over the German.
Top Match Bet
Dominic Thiem is riding the crest of a wave and he should win this match and reach a maiden Australian Open final.
