Brighton v Man City Betting Tips & Predictions: Premier League

It’s the final game of the season and all Premier League matches will be played to a conclusion on Sunday 12 May from 3.00pm. Heading in to what will be a thrilling climax we find Man City and Liverpool locked in a battle for the title, as they have been for much of this season. Here are our top Brighton v Man City betting tips.

An In-Depth Look at the Game

There’s just a point between the pair after 37 matches, with both clubs boasting an extended unbeaten run. Who will slip-up when it matters most, or will both clubs sign up with another victory, handing The Cityzens glory by the tightest of margins?

Brighton have a part to play in answering that question when welcoming the league leaders to town. The hosts have saved their place in the top-flight for another season and have a five-point cushion over Cardiff City and the relegation zone, but just three points still to play for. They have drawn three of their last four, including each of their last two and can now play with the freedom that comes with knowing they are safe. With nothing to aim at, will they simply go through the motions? Bookmakers think so and traders at Ladbrokes are offering the hosts at a chunky 18/1 to win the match, while another share will net you 8/1 with William Hill.

One Win Away

Manchester City are now just one win from the Premier League title, having bagged an important three points on Monday night in a game they couldn’t afford to lose. The pace-setters hosted an improving Leicester City side at the Etihad to start the week and had the increased pressure of being last to play in round 37, knowing Liverpool had already won. It was a battle from the first whistle but one they eventually won thanks to a stunning goal from captain Vincent Kompany on 70 minutes. The match winner grabbed what was his first goal of the season and couldn’t have timed it any better as far as supporters were concerned.

A nervy contest, the pressure on Man City was obvious but Kompany stepped up to the plate, lashing home a strike from 25 yards which bulged the net and had the bulk of those inside the stadium up out of their seats in both appreciation and relief. Manager Pep Guardiola is expecting a tough game against Brighton but took confidence from the fact their destiny is in their own hands and they know a win will be enough to see them retain their title. The away day is hot favourite at 1/8 with 888Sport. Back Man City to win to nil at 21/10 (Ladbrokes).
