Feb 16 La Liga Betting Tips & Predictions

Eibar v Getafe

The first of our best Feb 16 La Liga betting tips is for Eibar v Getafe. Another fast-paced weekend of La Liga fixtures gets started on Friday night as Eibar welcome Getafe to town. The home side won seven and drew nine of their first 23 games at this level and the 30 points on the board is good enough for 10th. They have just two to find going into the week to match Real Betis and the top six and will fancy their chances of going close to a European finish this term. Bookies have the home win as favourite, Unibet offering up a market best price of 11/10.

Top Four Finish?

Getafe sits five places higher in the pecking order than their hosts with five more points on the board. They have a real shot at landing a top-four finish this season and the Champions League qualification that comes with it; however, they must maintain their strong recent form if they are to have any chance of gatecrashing the party. The visitors travel on the back of three wins and a draw in their last five and we’re going to take a chance on them grabbing another maximum pay-out at Coral’s 3/1. That’s bigger than we think it should be.

Our Tip: Getafe to win – 3/1 at Coral

Celta Vigo v Levante

The first of four games from the Spanish top-flight on Saturday and this fixture carries a noon kick-off time. Celta Vigo started the week down in 16th with stats of 6-6-11, leaving them stuck on 24 points, only one better than Rayo Vallecano and the relegation trio. They have won only one of their last five, the other four starts in that run ending in defeat. Getafe was the latest club to put the boot in, dealing out a 3-1 reverse last weekend but the home win is favourite here, with traders pricing Vigo at 10/11 (Bet365).

Value in the Draw

That quote may come as a bit of a surprise to followers of the form and there will be more than a few keen to take a stab at the value that exists on an away day upset. Levante is two places higher than their opponents with three more points on the board. They go into this game having won one and drawn two of their last five and we expect they’d see the value in another share of the spoils here. Back the draw as a super single at Coral’s 13/5. Those hot on the Levante win can get their hands on 27/10 with Unibet.

Our Tip: A Draw – 3/15 at Coral

Rayo Vallecano v Atletico Madrid

Rayo Vallecano looks to be up against it here when rolling out the red carpet for high-flying Atletico Madrid. The locals are third bottom of the pile and in real danger of being relegated out of the top-flight of Spanish football come the end of the season. They threatened a fightback when winning two and drawing one of three but fell back into old habits and train for this match on the back of two defeats on the bounce. Confidence is low and traders are happy enough to offer Rayo Vallecano 74/17 on – top price at Unibet. The draw goes 5/2.

Atletico Madrid Favourites

Atletico Madrid is red hot favourites for the points and that will come as no major shock to lovers of La Liga. The visitors have won 12 of their first 23 and the 44 points on the board has them third in line, seven behind runaway leaders Barcelona and one-off Real Madrid in second. They have lost each of their last two, but this looks the perfect chance to get back to winning ways and apply pressure to their Madrid rivals. Back the away win in your multiples at 3/4 with Bet365. That’s a better price than we expected to find when approaching this tie.

Our Tip: Atletico Madrid to win – 3/4 at Bet365

Real Sociedad v Leganes

Real Sociedad enjoy a five-game unbeaten run with that purple patch made up of two wins and three draws. They again had to settle for a share of the spoils last time when holding on for a goalless finish away to Valencia. Not a bad point to pick-up, all things considered. That followed a 2-1 win over Athletic Bilbao when last at this venue, Oyarzabal and Da Silva on target in the first-half to better a reply from Garcia near the end of the match. Both teams to score again here leaps off the page at us with 11/10 available at Bet365, the draw yours at 12/5 – top price when playing at Bet365. Fancy the home win? There’s bits and pieces of even money around if you do.

A Good Run

Leganes are unbeaten in three, following a draw vs Eibar at the end of January with back-to-back wins scored over Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis. The latter came last Sunday when blasting their way to a 3-0 success in front of their own fans, En-Nesyri bagging a stunning hat-trick inside 66 minutes, Betis ending the match with 10 men after Fernandez was sent off near the end. Leganes have been written off by the money men and there’s as big as 17/5 at Unibet on the points heading off with the visitors at the final whistle. We’re happy to stick with what we know and take the draw.

Our Tip: A Draw – 12/5 at Bet365

Barcelona v Valladolid

The last of our Feb 16 La Liga betting tips is for Barcelona v Valladolid. This looks a gimme three points and a chance for Barcelona to take another step towards retaining their Spanish top-flight crown. It should be a case of how many Barca win by on Saturday night and we’re expecting quite a few goals on route to a comfortable result. Bookies agree and that’s the reason you’ll find Barcelona with a 1/10 price tag attached by Bet365 traders.

Take a Handicap

Barcelona -2 goals on the handicap is our bet at even money – market best when playing through Ladbrokes. Valladolid has been written off across the board and that is no surprise, given the fact they have won only one of their last five and show -9 in their goal difference tally vs an opponent with +37 in theirs. All the signs point to a bit of a battering for Valladolid in this one and the 22/1 at Ladbrokes on an upset isn’t enough to tempt us.

Our Tip – Barcelona to win on a -2 handicap – evens at Ladbrokes
