Valladolid v Villarreal
The first of our best Feb 9 La Liga betting tips are for Valladolid v Villareal. Two sides desperately out of form with Villarreal worse off, sitting second bottom of the division and in real danger of being relegated from La Liga. The visitors have drawn three of their last five and finished all-square last time. Chances are they’d see the value in another point here and we’re happy to stick with the trends and back a draw at 9/4 with Bet365. That’s a bigger price than we think it should be and makes more appeal than Valladolid at 7/5 (888sport) or Villarreal’s 2/1 (Ladbrokes).
Getafe v Celta Vigo
A busy Saturday gets started at 12.00pm with this, the first of a four-match fixture list and bookmakers are hot on the home win, pricing Getafe as odds-on favourites for the result. Bet365 offer 10/11 on this tie falling into line and that’s one of the better prices available. The locals are fifth and have every chance of ending in the top-four this season if they can find the consistency needed. Celta Vigo has lost four of their five most recent goes and doesn’t impress us at 10/3 (Coral).
Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid
What a game we have in store here as the Madrid rivals go head-to-head on Saturday in a 3.15pm kick-off that’ll have the attention of the sports-loving world. Only two points separate the sides going in, but the visitors boast the better recent form, winning each of their last four to reignite their season. Take a chance on the away day at a cracking 11/5 with Bet365. That will make this match all the more interesting. Atletico is 5/4 favourites, the draw 9/4 – both quotes taken from the Bet365 site. Enjoy the show.
Espanyol v Rayo Vallecano
Vallecano can be found stuck down in the bottom three of the La Liga table and edging towards relegation. They lost last time but have won three and drawn one of their last five to move them to within a point of Girona and safety. There’s still all to play for between now and the flag. Espanyol is winless in four, pushing us towards the draw at 13/5 (Unibet). The home win goes 4/5 (Ladbrokes), away day yours at 15/4 – top price with Bet365.

Girona v Huesca
A fascinating relegation dog fight and old fashioned six-pointer here as Girona – 17th in the table with stats of 5-9-8 – host Huesca – ranked bottom of the pile, returning 3-6-13. The winner of this one will seriously boost their chances of holding their ground in the Spanish top-flight for another season, at least, and we think it’ll be the locals cheering come the final whistle. Side with Girona at 10/11 (Bet365), more appealing than the Huesca upset at 7/2 – market best price with Unibet. Those stuck on the fence can back a draw at 9/4 (Coral).
Leganes v Real Betis
Real Betis have been less than convincing so far this year and make this trip having lost three and won two of their last five. They did take six points from nine, including victory last time out to lift them back to within four points of the top-four and Champions League qualification. Leganes is much further down the pecking order and is easy to oppose, but we’re going for the draw at 21/10 with Unibet. Backers of the home win will find Leganes at 11/8 (Bet365), Betis trading 9/4 with the same firm.
Valencia v Real Sociedad
Valencia set-up for this match on the back of a four-game unbeaten run that has seen them collect eight points from the dozen that was available to them. They were held to a draw last time out, leaving them eighth in the pile, six behind Sevilla and a place in the top-four. Sociedad is one place behind but level on points with their opponents and that makes this one all the more interesting. Back the home win for interest stakes at Coral’s 5/6. The draw can’t be easily ignored at 5/2 (Unibet), while those hot on the away day can back Real Sociedad at 16/5 through Coral.
Our Tip: Valencia to win – 5/6 at Coral
Sevilla v Eibar
Sevilla goes into the round sitting proudly in the top-four of La Liga and pushing for a surprise inclusion in the Champions League next term, but their recent form tells us they are beginning to feel the strain, with just one win managed in their last five, the same period showing three defeats. That has left the backdoor open and Real Sociedad down in ninth are only six off the pace. Eibar has lost only one of their last five and won last time. Take both teams to score in your multiples at 4/6 with Ladbrokes. The home win is the same price with the same firm, Eibar trading 19/5, the draw 29/10.
Our Tip: BTTS – 4/6 at Ladbrokes
Athletic Bilbao v Barcelona
The highlight of Sunday’s schedule sees league leaders Barcelona aim to take a step closer to yet another title with a win on the road. That’s easier said than done as the pressure begins to build but the visitors have vital experience of grinding out important wins when they are needed most and we’re more than happy to stick close to them. Athletic Bilbao seems to be moving in the right direction, but they lost last time and they’ll leave this game empty-handed again. Back the away win in your accumulators at 4/6 with most firms, including Bet365. The draw trades 3/1, a Bilbao win highly unlikely, according to the money men, offered at 7/2.
Alaves v Levante
The last of our Feb 9 La Liga betting tips are for Alaves v Levante. Alaves sit seventh in the pile and level on points with Getafe in fifth, only four off Sevilla and the top-four prize places, but they have lost each of their last three and taken only a point from the last dozen up for grabs. That does little to inspire a bet on the home win. Levante’s form isn’t an awful lot better, so we’re forced to take a shot at the 12/5 (Ladbrokes) on a draw. Alaves are 21/20 favourites with Bet365, Levante 13/5 (888sport).
