The one to catch our eye and receive our stake money in the coming days is another derby – The East Anglian Derby – which will go to traps on Thursday. Being able to watch your selection compete live should encourage more backers to have an interest early in this prize and bookmakers have done their bit for the cause by drawing up an early and competitive betting market. Tight so early in the running, we’d say, but many firms go 5/4 on the same bet and that makes the jolly a bit of value. We certainly wouldn’t put anyone off. Others prominent in the ante-post betting were Roxholme Glory at 5/2 and Bramble Reggie at 8/1.
