The standard of tennis on display at the Madrid Open this week has been incredible with some of the biggest names in the game putting on exhibition tennis at times. Both women have had relatively comfortable passages to this point thus far. Osaka is chasing a maiden clay court title following her incredible recent run whilst Bencic is knocking on the door of the world’s top 10 following an injury hampered period.

This is the third meeting between the players with both women having picked up one win each. Bencic’s 6-3 6-1 thrashing of Osaka in Indian Wells in March will still be fresh in both player’s memories.
