Manchester United vs Chelsea Predictions & Betting Tips
Sunday sees Manchester United host Chelsea in the 4:30pm kick-off in the Premier League. After…
Game of the week in Europe takes place at the Etihad Stadium where the renewal of the Manchester derby takes place from 5.30pm on Saturday 7 December. Major TV channels around the world will broadcast this match live and the 90 minutes that awaits is expected to live up to the hype.
There’s all to play for here as both teams go in needing the points for very different reasons. Man City need victory to keep pace with Liverpool at the top of the division while Man Utd require at least a draw to ease the pressure mounting on the players and coaching staff.
Man City suffered a stuttering start to their title defence and despite being priced up as odds-on favourites for three-in-a-row with all major firms, they entered the month of December third in the table. Liverpool have taken the lead on the back of a fast start and are showing no signs of slowing day as we head towards a hectic festive period.
Man Utd fans started the campaign with high hopes following a summer spending spree under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but things haven’t gone according to plan so far. They started December down in ninth place with a record showing four wins, five draws and four defeats. Supporters are now hoping the recent win on Mourinho’s Tottenham could change the course of the season before any more damage is done to the once proud club. If they lose this match, which they are expected to do, things will go from bad to worse.
It is worth remembering, however, that Man Utd earned a battling draw at Anfield recently. They would surely snap at a repeat performance if offered it ahead of this clash.
