Mar 14 Europa League Betting Tips & Predictions

Dynamo Kiev v Chelsea

The first of our Mar 14 Europa League betting tips is for Dynamo Kiev v Chelsea. Dynamo Kiev have home advantage here, but they are staring at elimination from the Europa League at the Round of 16 stage following a painful 3-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge last time out. The underdogs were hoping to keep things tight in England, aiming to have something to play for when running out in front of their own fans but there will now be little interest in the tie amongst supporters and we’re doubtful the local players will fancy their chances too highly either. Chelsea don’t need to win but Kiev have been marked out as 45/17 no hopers at Unibet.

Great First Leg

Chelsea were sublime in the first leg, easing to a 3-0 advantage thanks to goals from Pedro, Willian and Hudson-Odoi, the latter making his mark with 90 minutes on the clock and that could prove to be an important goal. A 2-0 lead is very comfortable but three puts The Blues firmly in the driving seat and they are expected to ease through to the next round. Fancy a punt on the away win? It’s one for your accumulators and we suggest adding them at 6/5 with Bet365. The draw is 12/5 – top price with the same firm – and the aggregate score means there’s a good chance of the Premier League side playing for a level finish.

Our Tip: Chelsea to win – 6/5 at Bet365

Salzburg v Napoli

Another home side who already look to be out of the running for this trophy and another who sit on the wrong end of a 3-0 aggregate score. Salzburg weren’t given much hope in Italy last week and that proved to be a shrewd call with the Serie A outfit running riot to put the game to bed at the earliest opportunity. A 3-1 defeat wouldn’t have been ideal either, but it would’ve given Salzburg an away goal and faint hopes of doing something at home. They failed to get the goal needed and didn’t get close to scoring when outclassed in every department. The home win is 29/20 favourite, best price with Bet365. That may be because Napoli don’t need to win.

Taking Control

Napoli took control of this tie with first leg goals from Milik and Ruiz, both coming inside 18 minutes, before Onguene knocked the ball into his own net under 58 minutes under heavy pressure. It was nothing more than the victors deserved, and they proved their class that day. The gulf that exists between both camps is so obvious, in fact, if Napoli want to win this match and send a strong enough side, they could repeat the scoreline again on foreign soil without too much fuss. We advise backing the away win at a value 15/8 with Coral, that price available online.

Our Tip: Napoli to win – 15/8 at Coral

Arsenal v Rennes

The BT Sport cameras set up camp at the Emirates for this one and we’re hot on the chances of a home win as England and France go toe-to-toe for a spot in the latter stages of the Europa League. Traditionally, Arsenal would see this competition as beneath them but as the race for the top-four in the Premier League gets increasingly competitive, many view this as a good back-up plan to gaining entry back into Europe’s elite. The Gunners were hammered 3-1 on the road last week, meaning they will have to seriously improve their efforts if they are to have any chance of turning the tables on Rennes. The home win is 3/10 with Bet365 and that’s top offer, best used in accumulators.

One Foot in the Next Round

Rennes put one foot in the next phase with a morale-boosting and seriously impressive win over Arsenal in France. The Gunners did score a vital away goal but that was as much as they were allowed to take from the day by an opponent who dominated for periods of the evening and proved themselves a match for one of the Premier League’s highest spenders. Iwobi scored inside three minutes but Arsenal had a man sent off and that ignited a fightback led by Bourigeaud. An own-goal from Monreal and Sarr winner late in the day turned the tides. Arsenal did give Rennes a helping hand with the sending off and own-goal, and that puts us off a bet on the away win at 10/1 (bet365), less likely than the draw at 5/1 with the same online betting giant.

Our Tip: Arsenal to win – 3/10 at Bet365

Inter Milan v Frankfurt

Inter Milan wanted to keep things tight in the first leg, avoid conceding too many while scoring a goal of their own to hand them the advantage when returning to Italy. It didn’t go exactly to plan but the first leg was a success with the scores locked at 0-0 heading into this midweek decider. That means we now have a straight shoot-out on our hands with both teams fancying their chances of extending their adventure in Europe. Milan are at home, which only helps their cause, and they also carry the support of bookies who make the locals favourites at 13/10 with 888sport.

A Strong Game

Frankfurt played their weekend Bundesliga match on Monday and were on the road, which doesn’t make too much sense as you’d imagine the German association would want to give their side as much time to recover and plan for this match as possible. There were a few grumbles, but Frankfurt laid them to rest with a strong 3-0 away win to boost confidence heading to this vital Europa League clash. We’re with Milan as there should be a few tired legs in the away dressing room, but the visitors are 23/10, Best at bet365, a draw 12/5 at the same shop.

Our Tip: Milan to win – 13/10 at 888sport

Villarreal v Zenit

The last of our Mar 14 Europa League betting tips is for Villarreal v Zenit. This match may not feature too highly on your watch list, but it will provide a worthwhile addition to accumulators, if you can pick a winning bet. We didn’t fancy the chances of a weak looking Villarreal against the might of Zenit in Russia last week, but they proved us dead wrong, grabbing a fantastic 3-1 win on their travels against all the odds. Iborra and Azmoun traded blows on 33 and 35 minutes to send the teams in tied at the break but it was Villarreal who came out strongest, winning the match with goals from Moreno and Morlanes. The home win is priced at evens with Bet365.

Need a Miracle?

Zenit would’ve been disappointed to lose at home and know their chances are now all but over, barring a footballing miracle. They did score to keep things competitive but must win this game by at least three clear goals to go through and that’s a very big ask of any team visiting a Spanish opponent. Zenit won their Russian Premier League match at home to FC Ufa on Sunday with a 2-1 scoreline and although that was a little tighter than expected, it did serve as the perfect preparation for this trip.

The away win is 29/10 and you’ll find Bet365 traders to be the most generous in the market. A draw would do for the home team and we wouldn’t be quick to write that off at 27/10 with the same bookmaker. We’ll stick with Villarreal as they really surprised us in Russia and proved themselves worthy of a place in the next round.

Our Tip – Villarreal to win – evens at Bet365
