Mar 16 La Liga Betting Tips & Predictions

Real Sociedad v Levante

The first of our Mar 16 La Liga betting tips is for Real Sociedad v Levante. Welcome to another busy weekend of action from the Spanish La Liga as teams battle over points and position at both ends of the table. Real Sociedad enjoy home advantage when opening the show on Friday night but they set-up winless in their last three, following a draw with back-to-back defeats.

Not Pretty

That does little to inspire confidence in punters, but their opponents are no better, Levante losing each of their last three and sitting just five points better than the relegation zone. This won’t be pretty, but we’re backing the home win at 10/11 with Bet365. You’ll get the draw at 12/5 or 3/1 about an away day.

Our Tip: Real Sociedad to win – 10/11 at Bet365

SD Huesca v Alaves

Huesca is bottom of the table with season stats showing five wins and seven draws against 15 defeats. They have conceded 44 goals in 27 games so far and already find themselves four points off safety, with time running out. Huesca has looked certainties for relegation for some time now and we expect them to live up to expectations.

Top Four Place

Alaves are pushing hard for a place in the top-four and fans are dreaming of being involved in Champions League football next term, something they couldn’t have imagined at the start of the season. They start in fifth, four off Getafe in fourth and on a hot streak of form. The away win makes perfect sense here and we’re on at a cracking 2/1 with Ladbrokes. The home win is 6/4 jolly – we don’t know why – a draw trading at 21/10.

Our Tip: Alaves to win – 2/1 at Ladbrokes

Real Madrid v Celta Vigo

Real Madrid’s chances of winning back the La Liga title lie in tatters and they start the week down in third, 12 points behind Barcelona and five off Atletico Madrid. Beating their fierce rivals to the silver medal now goes as their main aim in the remaining few matches, but even that looks to be a big ask at this stage. Fans will demand to see an improvement here and the locals can be backed at 2/9 through Ladbrokes.

Prove a Point

Celta Vigo faces the unenviable task of lining up against a Blancos side in a bad mood and out to prove a point and they make this journey having gained just one of the last 15 points available to them, suffering defeat in each of their last two. Vigo is involved in a relegation fight but we’re dead against them in this one. Backers can get 12/1 (Ladbrokes), the draw 11/2.

Our Tip: Real Madrid to win – 2/9 at Ladbrokes

Athletic Bilbao v Atletico Madrid

Bilbao can be found kicking their heels in midtable and they’ve won just seven times this season, 13 draws their main problem, but they are difficult to beat and set-up on the back of a decent run of form. The locals have won two and drawn two of their last five and will see another share as a decent result. You can back the level finish at 21/10 – best price with Bet365 – or a home win at 5/2 with the same bookie.

The Favourites

Atletico Madrid are favourites to land the points and that will come as no surprise to followers of Spanish football. The visitors are chasing down a second-place finish behind Barcelona and have won each of their last four league starts. That can’t be ignored, the smart money coming for an away win. Back Madrid in your accumulators at 6/5 (Bet365).

Our Tip: Atletico Madrid to win – 6/5 at Bet365

Leganes v Girona

Both sides lost last weekend and there’s little between them in the league table, the home team two points better than their visitors before kick-off. There’s not a lot to get excited about when looking at either but the loser of this will be drawn into a relegation battle, so that should ensure a nervy 90 minutes of football.

On the Fence

Sit on the fence and back a draw at 11/5 (Bet365). That makes more sense than the home cheer at 21/20 or 14/5 about an away day. Take no in the both teams to score as part of your weekend European football accumulators.

Our Tip: A draw – 11/5 at Bet365

Eibar v Valladolid

Valladolid’s season continues to go from bad to worse as they near the relegation zone on the back of a terrible run of form. They make this trip having lost each of their last four and bookies expect that barren spell to stretch to five games with yet another defeat. There’s as big as 5/1 on an upset and that tells the story of how this one should go.

Doing Well

Eibar is no world-beater, but they have lost just one of their last five and are unbeaten in two. The confidence that comes from that, as well as home advantage, should see them win at 8/13 (Ladbrokes).

Our Tip: Eibar to win – 8/13 at Ladbrokes

Espanyol v Sevilla

Espanyol goes in with the benefit of an extended unbeaten run that has helped push them past the stragglers in midtable and they prepare for this one having won two and drawn three of their last five. They are making themselves difficult to beat in the closing weeks of the campaign and another draw leaps off the page at us at 12/5 (Bet365). Espanyol to win their 10th game of the season is second favourite, top price 7/4 with 888Sport.

Back on Track

Sevilla ended a woeful run with a victory last time to get themselves back on track for a top-six finish and supporters will see the value in taking them to double up at 6/4 (Ladbrokes), but that’s not a bet that grabs our attention.

Our Tip: A draw – 12/5 at Bet365

Real Betis v Barcelona

The last of our Mar 16 La Liga betting tips is for Real Betis v Barcelona. Barcelona has won each of their last four to put this title race to bed and they are now running down the clock before being crowned champions once again. They don’t have a lot to play for domestically, with Atletico Madrid in second seven points off the pace and that brings the danger that they could take their eye off the ball.

An Easy Win

That’s unlikely in a match they should win without too much trouble. Take the away day in your multiples at 2/5 (Bet365). That’s a better price than expected. Real Betis are 13/2, the draw more likely at 7/2.

Our Tip: Barcelona to win – 2/5 at Bet365
