Mar 16 Scottish Premiership Betting Tips & Predictions

Aberdeen v Livingston

The first of our Mar 16 Scottish Premiership betting tips is for Aberdeen v Livingston. We have a packed Saturday afternoon schedule with five of the six matches from the Scottish Premiership taking place on Saturday in the 3.00pm slot and that’s great news for fans as it allows them the chance to enjoy their day out at the football. Things are getting tight across the board as we approach the final few games, but time is running out for Aberdeen to catch Rangers and hold onto second place. They are 4/6 favourites with Coral to beat Livingston and we’ll take that.

Hot and Cold

Livingston are blowing hot and cold as we approach the home-straight and their last five tells a story as they have won two, lost two and drawn one. There’s no chance of The Lions being dragged into the relegation battle and little hope for a top-six finish, it would seem, so they don’t have a lot to play for between now and the flag. 9/2 at Bet365 for the away win. Easy on the eye, but Livi have proven their point and will have their minds on the summer break, we imagine.

Our Tip: Aberdeen to win – 4/6 at Coral

Hamilton v Hearts

Accies are in a world of trouble as they start this one at New Douglas Park with the threat of relegation hanging over their heads. The home side have lost three of their last four, meaning bottom club St Mirren are four points behind with Dundee and the drop zone just three off the pace. It’s a nervy time in the home dressing room and we wouldn’t back them to beat Hearts, even with Coral giving 7/2 on the locals.

Top Three Finish

The Jambos have more to cheer about and remain in with a chance of landing a top-three finish, although their hopes are fading. The Edinburgh club won last time to remain ahead of bitter rivals Hibs and holding the Leith side at arm’s length will be their main aim. This is a winnable match for Hearts and we’ll back them at 5/6, top price with Ladbrokes.

Our Tip: Hearts to win – 5/6 at Ladbrokes

Hibs v Motherwell

Hibs are five points behind The Jambos but have found form since Lennon was swapped with Heckingbottom and make this trip unbeaten in four, that run made up of three wins and a 1-1 draw with Rangers at Easter Road last weekend. There’s confidence in the camp and they should have enough quality to scrape through what should be a physical match. Side with the home win at Coral and get 20/23, a price that’ll work in your accumulators.

Top Six Spot

Motherwell are aiming for a spot in the top-six and still have half a chance of achieving that but if they are to beat the split and earn a bigger share of the prize money, they surely have to beat Hibs and leapfrog their hosts in the pecking order. Motherwell won last time out but we’re going against them in the capital, although backers will get 10/3.

Our Tip: Hibs to win – 20/23 at Coral

Rangers v Kilmarnock

Game of the day as Steven Gerrard looks to inspire a big performance from his side in the second-leg of a vital double-header for The Blues. They threw away two points at Easter Road last weekend before seeing Celtic drop two at home to Aberdeen and if they don’t challenge Celtic this season it’ll come down to missed chances like that. There’s a fire in the belly of home fans who are demanding consistency between now and the end of the season and the players must give them it. Add Rangers to your Saturday accumulators at 1/3 with Coral. Those looking for more can try the home win to nil at 11/10, top price with the same bookmaker.

Raising the Game

Kilmarnock are more than good enough to spoil the party and leave Govan with all three points as they have already proven themselves a match for The Bears, but they do appear to have played their best football already this season and losing a couple of players in January is starting to take its toll on the visitors. They have won only one of their last five, but the spare did come last time out and there’s no doubt Steve Clarke will ensure his boys raise their game considerably following a mauling at Ibrox in the Scottish Cup, and the fans’ chants that followed. The visiting gaffer would love to silence the home support, so we wouldn’t talk anyone out of a bet on Killie at a staggering 9/1, but it isn’t for us.

Our Tip: Rangers to win – 1/3 at Coral

Dundee v Celtic

The last of our Mar 16 Scottish Premiership betting tips is for Dundee v Celtic. As if Dundee didn’t already have enough on their plate, they now set-up against champions and league leaders Celtic who will be gunning for a convincing win on the back of last weekend’s home draw with The Dons. Every victory takes them a step closer to the title, but The Dee must concentrate on themselves as every point takes them a step closer to beating relegation. Both sides need the points for very different reasons and Dundee will be determined to get their share, but their form makes them difficult to back, even at the 18/1 offered by Ladbrokes. A draw is 6/1 with the same firm, but that shouldn’t attract too much attention either.

Top Dogs

Celtic are, of course, top of the league and well on their way to yet another title, despite losing manager Brendan Rodgers to Leicester City at a vital time of the campaign. They dropped two points last weekend, but Rangers couldn’t make them pay and they are now edging towards the trophy and have every chance of landing an historic treble-treble. How Lennon’s Bhoys respond to that Aberdeen draw will be interesting but the away win is very easy to back and it’ll be popular in Scottish football accumulators, even at 1/5 with Bet365. That’s short, but it’s market best price. The handicap betting gives more and Celtic -1 goal is 4/7 at Ladbrokes. Those with a bit more faith in The Hoops can back them -2 goal on the handicap at 29/20, best price when getting your stake money down at Ladbrokes.

Our Tip: Celtic -1 on handicap – 4/7 at Ladbrokes
