We get stuck into an interesting Saturday and race of the day comes at us in the form of the bet365 Hurdle. Bookmakers have gone up early with their thoughts on that one, allowing punters to bet on the ante-post market. The earlier you gamble the better price you’ll get on most selections.
Traders have made their feelings clear and have pinned Unowhatimeanharry to the head of their ante-post list. That runner is favourite with all major betting firms but there remains a difference of opinion between them on what the price should be. Ladbrokes offer market best odds of 9/4 while other firms are a little tighter, serving up 15/8. That quote will only shorten as we approach the off and the casual backers start to get their cash down.
Dangerous Ballyandy
The main danger is Ballyandy and that’s a 15/8 alternative. 888sport rates as the most generous firm on that runner, their rivals stuck closer to the 9/4 mark. Now, if you can back enough 9/4 shots at 11/4, you’ll make a profit from horse racing. Every experienced punter will tell you that.
We can’t see past the value here and although the favourite is the best horse in the field according to the stats, we’re happy to take a pop at Ballyandy. That’s where the money came and we expect Ballyandy to go off around 15/8 (888Sport) following support.
