Monaco Still Can’t Avoid Losing To PSG
The football season in France is finally starting, and oddly enough it all starts in China! The French Super Cup, or as they call it “Trophée des Champions”, will see PSG v AS Monaco in Shenzhen. Looking closely, we predict a win for the Paris side. Here is why:
Predictions For The Game:
AS Monaco hasn’t won a match against PSG since August 2016 and the team’s poor run of results continues. On the other hand, PSG has won six straight matches, including thrashing them 7-1 in their previous match. Both teams will have suffered some important absences, but that should go in PSG’s favour because they have more quality players to choose from. The important thing for PSG is that Buffon will start in goal and Neymar will probably be in attack, while the best AS Monaco player Radamel Falcao, as well as goalkeeper Danijel Subasic, will miss the game.
PSG:
The new PSG coach, Thomas Tuchel, changed the team’s formation to 3-5-2. However, he played the pre-season friendly games without most of the first-team players. Against AS Monaco he will have Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, Edinson Cavani and Neymar at his disposal, but Kylian Mbappe will definitely not play. Nevertheless, PSG is at a much higher level than any of its opponents in France and should no doubt prove it today. AS Monaco changed its team almost completely this pre-season. The club lost very important players including Thomas Lemar, Fabinho and Joao Moutinho; their only big signing is Aleksandr Golovin who will not play today. AS Monaco doesn’t know how to play against PSG; they have lost the last six games against this team, conceding a massive 23 goals in the process. We believe the probable lineup will be (4-2-3-1): Benaglio; Pierre-Gabriel, Glik, Jemerson, Serrano; Pele, Tielemans; Lopes, Diop, Keita Balde; Jovetic.
