After a marathon qualifying campaign that started back in July at the first-round stage, Rangers have finally made the group stages and are rewarded for their efforts with a home tie against Dutch cracks Feyenoord. The big teams of European football are now back in Govan and that’s down to Dave King, Steven Gerrard and the fans. Here are our top Rangers v Feyenoord betting tips and predictions.
A Closer Look
Rangers have been dropped into a tricky group that includes Young Boys and Porto, as well as Thursday’s opponents, but nothing is beyond the locals at this stage. They will play each home match in front of a capacity crowd who will hope each of their heroes can stand up and be counted on the big stage and in front of the watching world. Rangers must send out a message and prove, following a dark period in their history, the club has stepped back into the light.
Will they be able to do that with a win over a top-level opponent on Thursday? That remains to be seen, but it’ll be great fun finding out, that’s for sure. The current match betting has Rangers as 13/10 favourites to collect three points and get off to the perfect start. That places them ahead of Feyenoord at 21/10 with Ladbrokes and 11/5 the draw.
Playing it Safe
We’re sure both sides would be happy with an early share of the spoils to avoid defeat on what should be a tense evening. There’s enough value in that one to back as a single but it could also do a job with two or three others in a small accumulator, giving backers a crack at big returns for small stakes. There’s sure to be drama in this one, so enjoy the show live on BT Sport.
