Tournament History
The Paris Rolex Masters has become a staple on the ATP Tour calendar with since its inception back in 1968. The Bercy has become one of the premier indoor tennis venues on the planet with so many memorable matchups taking place there throughout the years and it is the only Masters 1000 event to be played indoors and is renowned for its lightning-quick court speed.
Format
The event is an ATP Masters 1000 meaning that is compulsory for the world’s top 32 players to take part (injuries permitting) and with 1000 ranking points on offer, it is one of the biggest events in the calendar outside of the Grand Slams. With the draw being completed in just one week, the 48 players competing can expect a hectic schedule should they manage to reach the latter stages of the event.
Venue
The Rolex Paris Masters takes place at the Accor Hotels Arena (formally known as the Bercy) in central Paris where it has been housed for over 30 years.

As one of the biggest events on the ATP Tour outside of the majors, the Rolex Paris Masters has a prestigious roll-call of previous winners headed up by Novak Djokovic who has won the event on 4 previous occasions – most recently in 2015. Marat Safin and Boris Becker have won the event on 3 previous occasions whilst perennial champions Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi have both won the event twice. Novak Djokovic is the only man to retain the Paris Masters – winning the event in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
