Tennis Betting Tips and Odds: Men’s Semi-Finals 2018

It’s tight at the top now, with not much between the remaining players; as such, there’s never been a time when helpful tennis betting tips are needed. There are only 4 men left in the 2018 Wimbledon Draw; the usual selection of big names are joined by some new faces on the second Friday at SW19. Top seed and defending champion was ousted by Kevin Anderson in a true Wimbledon classic in the quarter finals and the South African is through to his first Wimbledon semi-final. Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have returned to the semi-finals in South West London after a few years away whilst big-serving Amerian John Isner, has reached his maiden Grand Slam semi-final at Aorangi Park.

Wimbledon Outright Winner Odds:

Novak Djokovic – 11/8 – Unibet

Rafael Nadal – 6/4 – Ladbrokes

John Isner – 7/1 – 888 Sport

Kevin Anderson – 7/1 – Bet365

Here are our semi-final Wimbledon predictions:

John Isner vs Kevin Anderson

To win the match:

John Isner – 10/11 – William Hill

Kevin Anderson – 10/11 – Ladbrokes

It will be a battle of the big servers first up on Centre Court as John Isner and Kevin Anderson face off in what promises to be a fascinating battle. Anderson, who knocked out Federer on route, reached the final at the US Open last year; he is emerging as one of the most consistent men on the tour. John Isner, meanwhile, has enjoyed his best week at a Grand Slam here in London and he will fancy his chances of going all the way.

Head to Head

These two seasoned campaigners have met on 11 previous occasions with Isner dominating the head to head 8:3. Their last meeting was 3 seasons ago at Indian Wells, with Isner picking up a straight sets win.

Match Prediction

This match will be dominated by the serve with both men well renowned for their serving abilities.

Most Aces: John Isner – 1/6 (William Hill). Whilst Anderson does possess a huge serve, Isner and his 6 feat 10 frame relies heavily on his serve and he has been metronomic at SW 19 so far this year.

Tie-Break in First Set: YES – 2/5 (Ladbrokes). Both men will want to find their feet on the big stage and they will be relying on their serve to pick up cheap points – meaning a first set tie-break looks inevitable.

Total Games in Match: Over 48 Games in the match– 10/11 (Bet365). With serve sure to dominate the match, long sets with tie-breaks look inevitable and this one could be an epic.

Set Betting: Over 3.5 Sets – 2/5 (William Hill). This should be a serve-filled encounter that’s sure to be decided by very fine margins and with both men so evenly matched, could well go the distance.

Top Match Bet: John Isner to win 3 sets to 2 – 9/2 (Unibet)

John Isner is synonymous with disappointment at big tournaments but has shown an improvement in his mental strength in recent seasons and looks to be ready to reach his first Grand Slam Final.

Novak Djokovic vs Rafael Nadal

To win the match:

Novak Djokovic – 10/11 – William Hill

Rafael Nadal – 10/11 – 888sport

Two of the biggest names in tennis return to SW19 in what promises to be one of the matches of the tournament – in a repeat of the 2011 final. Novak Djokovic has returned to form on the grass, following a barren 2017; he now looks well placed to pick up his 4th Wimbledon crown. Rafael Nadal, isn’t known for his grass court prowess but has looked in fine fettle so far in 2018 and his performance against Juan Martin Del Potro in the last 8 was arguably one of his greatest at Wimbledon.

Head to Head

This is the 52nd meeting between the players and remarkably they can only be separated by one match – with Djokovic edging the head to head 26:25 – this could be a Wimbledon classic.

Match Prediction

As the odds indicate, there is so little to separate these two genuine tennis heavyweights and it could come down to mistakes or flashes of brilliance at the key moments.

Most Aces: Novak Djokovic – 1/4 (William Hill). Whilst both men possess solid serves, they are better known for their return prowess. It’s a fact that nobody in tennis returns better than Novak Djokovic.

Tie-Break in Match: YES – 8/11 (Bet365). These two men are so closely matched and with so much at stake, tie-breaks could be the way in which most sets are decided.

Total Games in Match: Over 40 – 5/7 (Ladbrokes). These two man have shared many epic battles over the years and it promises to be another one on Centre Court on Friday.

Set Betting: Over 3.5 Sets – 2/5 (888sport). Both men are known for their endurance on the court and could well push each other to the limits in order to get the win.

Top Match Bet: Novak Djokovic to win 3 sets to 2 – 5/1 (William Hill).

Rafael Nadal has been in imperious form all season and rightfully sits at the top of the world rankings. However, Novak Djokovic has returned to form in recent weeks and has the perfect game style for grass.
