Villa and Bayern Munich have only met once in their history, famously back in the 1982 Champions League final. 

The De Kuip Stadium, Rotterdam, hosted the match that saw Villa win the most prestigious trophy of them all, the European Cup, against Bayern Munich by a scoreline of 1-0.

This was the only time the side has appeared in the competition since it rebranded from the European Cup to the Champions League in 1992.
