The Formula 1 season is now back in full flow following a brief summer break and there’s plenty to look forward to. We enjoyed a thrilling renewal of the Belgian Grand Prix last week when seeing wunderkind Charles LeClerc upset the odds to take the title, beating Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. This season has been accused of being boring at times by critics, especially when Lewis Hamilton was threatening to run away with the prize earlier in the campaign but the Brit has faced real competition in recent times and is experienced enough to know that, despite his lead, there’s much work still to be done.
The Italian Grand Prix was won by Lewis Hamilton 12 months ago, finishing on the top step ahead of Kimi Raikkonen and Valtteri Bottas. A repeat of that effort on Sunday would boost the Briton’s chances of winning another world title and the betting has him picked to do just that. That places him second behind Charles LeClerc who is a surprising 6/4 jolly with Ladbrokes.

An interesting one by the traders and that’s sure to attract the attention of value hunters. It’s not often we get the chance to back Hamilton at anything other than short-priced favourite and it’s worth remembering he was 10/11 to win a Grand Prix not too long ago. The fact he won this race last year makes that price even easier to trust and that’s where we’ll have our cash.
