Scotland will host Australia in a T20I series at The Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh starting on Wednesday 4th, September 2024.

The home team sees all 15 players who featured in the T20 World Cup squad return for the series against the Aussies. Charlie Cassell and Jasper Davidson are also new call-ups, while Richie Berrington will lead the side. 

Australia

This is the first assignment since the T20 World Cup, in which Australia did not make it past the Super 8. Mitchell Marsh will captain the side again and look for more success against the Scottish. Australia has never lost against Scotland, a record they intend to keep.

The squad includes several players from the World Cup, including Tim David, Nathan Ellis, Cameron Green, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, and Marcus Stoinis. Pat Cummins, Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Starc have been rested for the series, while Josh Hazlewood and Spencer Johnson are missing out through injury. 

Scotland vs Australia History 

Since the first meeting of the sides in 1999, Scotland has never won an ODI against Australia, with the head-to-head record standing at 5-0. The two sides last met in 2015, where the Scots were all out for 130, and the Aussies went on to win by seven wickets. Both sides have only played each other once in T20 cricket, and that was only recently at this year’s T20 World Cup in June. The meeting in St Lucia resulted in the Aussies winning by five wickets.
