Wolves v Newcastle Betting Tips – 11/2

The 26th round of Premier League rounds up with the Wolverhampton v Newcastle match. The home team has three wins in a row and seem to be in great shape lately. Here are our best Wolves v Newcastle betting tips…

Currently, Wolves are in 7th place in the Premier League – 12 points away from 6th place Chelsea and are in a very safe position away from the relegation zone… where other teams struggling to stay in the top-flight league.

On the other hand, Newcastle could be in huge trouble. They are very close to the relegation zone in 17th place – and actually have the same number of points as Southampton who sit in 18th position. However, Newcastle still has one game in hand, which will hopefully move them away from the relegation zone.

This seems to be a much more important match for Newcastle. However, will they be able to challenge the Wolves who have a three-win streak and plenty of confidence before this match?

Newcastle desperately needs a win here against the Wolves who don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

Our prediction:

Wolverhampton have 3 wins in a row;  if we look at their season, they have had some very impressive wins – including a win over Chelsea in the Premier League and also Liverpool in the FA Cup. They play well at home. Newcastle, on the other hand, hasn’t played well recently. The club has only managed two wins away for the whole season, so we really don’t think they stand a chance against Wolverhampton today.  Our prediction is a  home win, and we reckon it could well be a 2-0 scoreline.

Wolverhampton:

Wolverhampton is the favourites in today’s game. There is no doubt that they are the better team in this duel. They come to this game with a 3-2 victory over Shrewsbury in FA cup. Wolves gave many a young player the chance to play and the 62-minute goal from Ivan Cavalero was the winning one. The club has 3 straight wins in the Premier League and their spree is downright impressive so far. Last Saturday, they defeated Everton 3-1 away from home. Before that, they beat West Ham 3-0. Last, but not least, they took a 4-3 victory against Leicester in a really well fought out and even game.

Even though Diogo Jota and Rúben Vinagre are in doubt for today’s game, Nuno Espirito Santos said they will be playing today.

Newcastle

It’s hard to put your finger on what’s happening at Newcastle at the moment. In their last game, they lost 1-0 to  Spurs, and in the game before they beat Manchester City 2-1. Overall, their performance hasn’t been good and they have simply made too many mistakes. The club has many players that may not play today, and we’ll only know one hour before the game starts as to whether they will be in the squad or not. On that list, we can find Karl Darlow, Ki Sung-Yueng, Robert Elliot, Paul Dummett, Mohamed Diamé and Jonjo Shelvey.

Rafael Benítez did make a good decision when he bought Salomón Rondon from Atlanta in MLS. There was a huge price tag on him, at least by Newcastle standards. He was supposed to make his debut against Tottenham, but they didn’t manage to get all of the paperwork fixed in time. It’s all done now, and it will be exciting to see what he will be able to do. He did go through a hard time in his first game though, but in the long run, he should be a good asset for Newcastle.
