Want to Bet on Love Island 2019? Here’s Our Love Island Betting Guide
There are many people who call Love Island trash television – and they have a point. However, no-one can deny its popularity. Everyone has a guilty pleasure, and for many it starts in June and follows the love lives of ridiculously glamorous youngsters on the island of Majorca. However, you can now get even more involved – and we’re not talking about a ménage a trois. You can now find top bookies who offer Love Island betting and special betting offers. As Love Island’s popularity soars, so does the popularity of Love Island betting. Let’s look at everything you need to know about Love Island 2019.
All You Need to Know and More
Where and When
It’s official. The new season of Love Island hits our screen on Monday 3rd June 2019. The show is shown every evening – usually at 9pm on ITV2. However, on occasions, it is later, and on occasions, it runs longer than normal. Also, there is one show per week that just shows a catch-up of the week’s action with some unseen footage.
Love Island isn’t just a fictional place, it’s set in a specially made villa in Mallorca. The villa is situated on the east coast of the island, far away from any towns or villages. The inhabitants of the villa have total privacy and can be as noisy as they like without upsetting the neighbours!
So, what lucky presenter is paid to spend over a month in Mallorca, hanging out with good-looking youngsters? The answer is Caroline Flack. Former Strictly Come Dancing winner has been on the scene since the mid-2000s. She’s had roles on shows such as X Factor, Eurovision and Gladiators and has been part of the Love Island family since 2017. People know her for getting on very well with some of the contestants at the after party – as she likes a good party in the sun!
Love Island on Social Media
Once the villa doors are open, it’s tough to avoid it on Social Media. If you do want to follow it, then there’s a dedicated Twitter handle – which is @LoveIsland. Here you’ll get all the most up-to-date news and gossip on the show. Then, once you get to know the contestants and couples, you’ll be able to follow them. You’ll also find the twitter feeds inundated with all sorts of hash tags – #JackandDani being a popular one from last year.
Love Island Lies
One of the most popular episodes of every season is the famous / infamous Lie Detector episode. Here, all the contestants can compile a list of questions that they want to ask their partner. This can make or break a relationship depending on the outcome. Asking your beau if there’s someone they prefer to you is always a tricky one. This episode often shakes up the most seemingly solid of couples and is always set to make a story sea when it has previously been plain sailing.
Being a Winner in Love
So, is there a recipe to become a Love Island will? How do you get the prize money? Well, the first contestants to enter the villa are not the only ones – as contestants come and go during the weeks in the villa. The initial female contestants then step forward for the guys they fancy and want to couple up with – and there’s always some poor guy who gets no-one. Each week, there are additions to the household, who have to ‘graft’ to win over the contestants. Couples recouple every week, and if there’s an odd number, the one who doesn’t get picked goes home. Generally, the most successful contestants are those who stay together from the first day. If you have managed to graft enough to stay on the island till the end, the public vote for their favourite couple to win the £50,000. One of them then gets the cheque and can either keep the money or split it with their partner.
Getting On Love Island
Interested in being a contestant? Well, it helps if you have a small connection to celebrity – i.e. celebrity friends / family or some kind of past. Obviously, one of the biggest assets is a decent body and good-looking face. A big personality is always helpful too. However, not everyone is the perfect model. There have been a few successful male applicants – Nathan Massey and Jack Fincham – that haven’t just got on the show, but won it. Not sure that works for the women though…

- My Type on Paper – the sort of person they would generally go for

- Stick it on him / her – make a move on someone

The Best Love Island Betting Odds
Like any event you bet on, looking at the best odds for Love Island is super important. When the show is on, many bookies will offer great offers and promos to get you betting on their couples. The bookies will then base their odds on the popularity of the couple and the public perception. To find out who’ll give you the best value, check out Social Media and find out who’s popular, and who’s not. Facebook and Twitter will be heaving with info and opinions. If you want to find a value bet, look to see what the popular opinion is and whose odds give you the best value to reflect that.
Love Island Betting Tips and Strategies?
Because of the comings and goings, it’s not easy to predict. Not only do people leave the villa, but they also enter it mid-show. These people can really shake it all up and throw the previous odds out the window. Generally, the public love a couple that get on well from the start and stay loyal to each other – take Jack and Dani, Cara and Nathan, Kem and Amber. These couples always have a journey, but always stick together. If looking for a good bet, look for a couple that aren’t necessarily given lots of airtime at the beginning. The less time they have on the screen, the higher the odds on them will be. You have to look for a contestant that is likeable. A popular contestant will stay on the island, and the public will like them. Arrogant contestants, argumentative contestants and flaky contestants aren’t liked, so steer clear of those. Looking at the previous winners, the pattern is clear – people either vote for the low key, faithful couple, or the woman that has been treated badly by men but has made it through to the final in a couple.
Types of Love Island Bets
People have been betting on Love Island since it first came back on the scene in 2015. Bookies offered winner markets, as they did on TV shows like X-Factor, BGT and Strictly Come Dancing. However, they have now got even more markets available, such as the week of elimination etc.
Life after Love Island
There are many contestants who have used Love Island to further their careers, and have done so successfully. Chris Hughes and Kem Cetinay have had their own spin off show, and Kem went on to star in Dancing on Ice. He also has had some presenting gigs, where Chris has made regular appearances on ITV Racing, where he is known in the horse racing scene. Wes also went to star in Dancing on Ice and was runner up. Alex and Olivia got married; Cara and Nathan are getting married and there have been Love Island babies. Jamie and Camilla used it as a platform to further humanitarian work and raise the profiles of charities.
Unfortunately, it hasn’t worked out so well for all contestants. The show hit the headlines recently because of the suicides of 2 previous contestants – Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis. Although there is no substantial link to the show, there have been accusations that these youngsters are thrown to the wolves and offered no after care. The Love Island spokespersons have insisted that the aftercare is important and the contestants have access to care whenever needed. Last season, none of the couples have remained together, which is the first time there has been no successful relationship to come from a season.

This Year’s Contestants
A semi-pro rugby player who will always try to score with the ladies! He describes himself as “upbeat and cheeky and outrageous”. He also rates himself as an 8/10 on the looks scale – on a good day. He describes his ideal girl as follows: “She needs to be able to hold a conversation…I want a irl that makes me laugh, even if that’s just from being herself and not trying to be funny.” He also says “A nice smile and nice teeth… and a nice bum!” However, age isn’t an issue for Sherif – he’s been known to like a cougar. However, he doesn’t like girls who want to be the centre of attention – he likes to be a little outside of centre stage. He does want a loyal girl (like last year’s Georgia…) and he won’t complain if she looks just like Vanessa Hudgens. Unfortuntaley, he set tongues wagging with his departure, as shamed Sherif hurt Molly – Mae and used derogatory language
Sherif Odds to win – Eliminated
This professional dancer is known for having a famous dancer brother – Strictly’s AJ Pritchard. He considers himself to be a loyal guy – he may have cheated in the past, but he declares that those days are over. Unlike may contestants, he’s not really into social media – but I’m sure he’ll be on the lookout for a text or two! When it comes to girls, he seems to like the brunettes – anyone resembling Megan Fox, Ariana Grande or Mila Kunis to be specific. He’s not a woman eater like many though and states that he’s been on less than ten dates in his life. He likes athletic girls, someone not too fake and someone with self-respect – but he’s going in with an open mind. He’s not modest though, and rates himself high on the looks scale. Will he be dancing in the dark with his Ginger Rogers?
Curtis found his girl as soon as he walked in – as he waltzed into the arms of air-hostess Amy. They have been very solid and ave become ‘exclusive’ in the villa. Curtis is proving to be very popular, however, Amy less so – and this unpopularity could scupper Curtis’ chance of the win.
Scouse fireman, Michael, describes himself as “straight talking” and likes to tell people exactly how it is. This tattooed hunk rates himself highly on the looks scale, singling out his lips as his best feature. In fact, he’s so confident he gives himself a 10/10… hmmm. When it comes to what he’s looking for, he says he wants “intellect, banter and a nice bum” – and “someone that doesn’t take themselves too seriously.” Don’t expect him to look out for his fellow male contestants though, as he says that if he likes a girl, he’s going for it- no bro code to stop him there! However, he has been cheated on a few times, so he’s not had it all easy. Will he find a damsel in distress waiting to be saved?
Michael didn’t get off to a flying start, but a connection seemed to grow with Amber. Although she had her barriers up at first, the attraction between them grew. They are now one of the programme’s strongest couples and favourites to win the show.
Many people will be familiar with boxer, Tommy’s, famous brother Tyson Fury. But is he a love knockout in his own right? He actually comes across as quite sweet – and wants a girl that isn’t over confident and is a little shy. He wouldn’t mind it if she looks like Ariana Grande either. He is a romantic though and says that for love, he’d go to the moon and back. He’s looking for his soul mate and says “I want to end up with a girl where I look at her every morning and think ‘you’re gorgeous, I’m so lucky”. Quite the romantic. However – he’s a fighter too – and he’ll be willing to go head to head with his rivals to get the girl. Having said that, he’s also quite keen on the idea of a Chris / Kem style bromance.
Well, Tommy seems to have found a bro-mance with Curtis – and he’s also got a romance with Molly-Mae to boot. It has been an interesting ride for sure. First he was making shapes with Joe and Lucie – he then moved on to Molly Mae, who was confused between Tommy, Anton and Danny, and then Maura came in and turned his head. He seems to be settled with Molly now though… for now!
Update – was it ‘love’ we saw last night!!!!
24 year old Anton is a Gym Owner from bonnie Scotland. However, he sees himself as a bit of a heart-breaker, admitting that he’s never been loyal. Will we see another Adam? He describes his ‘wandering eye’ as a medical condition! Maybe we need Dr Alex… He’s super confident though and thinks is sense of humour and work ethic will see him good on the show. However, he believes his eyes are his best feature – light eyes on dark skin. Having said that, he also describes himself as “moody and an over-thinker”. He also says that he’s ruthless and isn’t afraid of upsetting people to get what he wants. He won’t be mugged off though and will have no loyalties to any of the guys. He’ll also be prepared to go the distance for a girl that looks like Margot Robbie.
Poor old Anton is the character that has no luck. Every year there’s a lad that can’t get the girl, and this year it’s Anton. He’s grafted, you can’t deny that, but nothing has worked. He got close to new girl Elma, but we really felt it’s just because she wanted to stay in – so chose the single boy. Anyway, she’s now gone and he’s all by himself… again!
Londoner, Joe is 22 years old and owns his own catering company. He’s not quite as cocky as some- rating himself a modest 8.5 out of ten. He seems to be compared to last year’s Eyal – which isn’t really great, given the result! He’s a guy that’s looking for a connection with a a fun and outgoing girl – as long as she doesn’t take herself too seriously. He says he’s someone that doesn’t take life too seriously, but this can cause problems in serious relationships – as he messes around too much. However, not in that way, as he’s a bit of a romantic. He believes that love is a “super powerful thing” and he’ll go the extra mile for it. However, he also says he’s a ‘guy’s guy’ and wouldn’t snake a guy out. Ideally he’s looking for someone resembling Amber Heard, Jorja Smith or Lily Collins. However, he’s more concerned about the connection and initial attraction. He says he’d be a loyal partner in the villa – and you know ‘loyal’ is key!
He had a tough time with jealousy as Lucie got close to Tommy – and this was his downfall. Unfortunately for Joe, other couples didn’t see him and Lucy as compatible and he was put up for the vote against Anton. Joe went home and Lucie is left single.
Joe Odds to win – Eliminated
Aircraft Engineer Callum is 28 years old and is from South Wales. He describes himself a s ‘party boy’ who’s looking for a blonde bombshell. However, he’s also looking for a girl to settle down with. He says he favours petite blondes. However, at 28 he is one of the older contestants and is looking for more than just a good time – as the clock is ticking. He describes himself as being close to his family and loves his nan – and has a great bond with his nephews – obviously likes kiddies! Will he find his match made in heaven?
Callum odds to win – Eliminated
Danny made a splash when he entered the villa, turning Molly Mae’s head and sweeping Yewande off her feet. Yewande is the lucky girl and they are getting along nicely so far. Can Arabella put a spanner in the works?
Tom was a late arrival – and he came along for the two single girls – Anna and Maura. He seems to be creating some drama with Maura and Elma going head to head for his attentions. Elma has gone home and there’s just Maura.. despite a few kisses, he really messed up when said “let’s see if she’s all mouth” – in Maura’s earshot.
Another late entrant that came in with Tom, to couple up with single girls Anna and Maura. He seems to have his eye on Anna, and that seems to be reciprocated. He is helping Anna find her feet again after the sudden departure of Sherif.
Scientist, Yewanda is 23 years old and comes from Dublin. She definitely sees herself as both brain s and beauty. However, despite not being a model or gym instructor, she could be this year’s Camilla – who was very successful n 2017. Despite being a bright girl, she doesn’t shy away from the idea of being a reality TV star. In fact, she compares herself to Dr Alex and Camilla Thurlow. She’s not quiet like these two though and will be a feisty girl – and she’s not frightened to steal someone’s man ‘never say never”. She describes herself as easy to get along with, funny and caring. However, she also says she talks too much, a little dramatic and is a bit lazy – she’s also a flirt. She’s after someone like Anthony Joshua, so maybe she’ll like Boxer Tommy. But she’s more on the lookout for someone with good banter. She’s a smart girl and wants someone who can hold a decent conversation.
Yewande had a tough start but has found Danny, who seems to be a good match. She seems a little insecure and cold – which is putting Danny off. He needs affection and she can’t seem to give it. Things aren’t looking great here.
Blonde bombshell Lucy is a surfer from Cornwall, so has the blonde hair and athletic figure that many of the lads are looking for. She’s already had some Love Island success – with a short-lived romance with last year’s Charlie Frederick. Now she’s on the hunt for someone as sporty as she is. The surfer girl is on the look out for a surfer boy – tall athletic and blonde. She’s also got a very impressive Instagram account – with 46.3k followers – including Joey Essex, who have bonded over their mutual love of dogs. They were going to day… but it never happened. She does modelling on the side, but isn’t a girly girl – and doesn’t really get on with girly girls. If she wants a man, she’ll go for him. She does say that she’s hard to keep interested. She says she “cuts boys off very quickly” and will be hard to get. I’m sure there will be a few persistent guys who’ll try.
She’s had a tough time with a love triangle with Tommy and Joe. Joe eventually won, but there have been issues with her ongoinf friendship with Tommy. However, Joe is now gone, leaving lovely Lucie single. Will she follow? Or will she find a new guy?
Beauty therapist, Amber is just 21 years old and comes from Newcastle. When it comes to men, she’s got her eye on someone already, but unfortunately Tom Hardy is already off the market. However, as Hardy is hardly likely to make an appearance, she’s on the lookout for someone with a good sense of humour, doesn’t take themselves too seriously and loves dogs. I’m sure looking like Tom Hardy won’t be a hindrance. Poor Amber says her love life has been non-existent, although it looks set to change this summer. However, having had her hear broken, she won’t be ruthless and will not tread on other people’s toes. She’s looking for a guy with a big personality to sweep her off her feet. Here’s hoping for a beautiful time!
Amber got off to a slow start, with high barriers. However, smooth, friendly and fun nice guy, Michael eventually knocked them down. Things are looking good for the good-looking duo who are favourites to win.
26 year-old Amy is a Cabin Crew manager from Worthing and is also looking for ‘the one’. Despite working as cabin crew, her real passion is for musical theatre and has been on the stage since she was just 8-years old. She’s also a pageant queen, having been crowned 2017 Miss United Kingdom in the Miss Beautiful Pageant System. She obviously takes her looks very seriously. Amy has admitted to having her breasts done and has had veneers on her teeth. She’snow super confident and bikini ready. Amy is very vague on what she’s looking for. She says she wants someone to travel the world with and who will love her as much as she loves them. Sounds like she’s looking for Mr Right!
Amy didn’t have much luck in the first couple of days, but things turned round when Curtis entered the villa. Since he came in, they have been inseparable – and are “half boyfriend / girlfriend”. It’s been a rocky road with Lucie, and her popularity is waning though, which might cause problems when it comes to winning.
For any guy looking for a beautiful exotic brunette, Anna might be the one. The 28 year old pharmacist from London has been touted as the British Kim Kardashian, but she’s more than just a pretty face. She has her Masters in fact! She may be brainy and beautiful, but she’s also clumsy. She spills drinks all the time, and even spilled her drink of previous Love Islander, Kem Cetinay and his ‘hot cousin’. She is another girl after a Tom Hardy look alike, but will take a tall, dark and handsome stranger. However, if he has bad hygiene, and easy bets then it’s a no-no. He needs to be loyal, kind, emotional and not too cocky. Obviously not like Kanye West then!
Anna has been a bit quiet, and matched up with Sherif. Although it was going slow, there was something there, however, he got kicked off leaving her single. She looked set to go home, but late arrival, Jordan, came in and they seem to be getting on well. Watch this space…
Molly Mae came in with her eyes set on Tommy, although she had 3 guys in the mix at one point – drifting between Tommy, Anton and Danny. However, it took a turn for the worse when Maura entered and set her sights on Tomy, leaving her nose out of joint. Despite Maura’s best efforts, Tommy returned to Molly and it all seems to be going smoothly – for now.
Elma Pazar – Eliminated
Elma walked in with Maura and took advantage of Anton’s single (and slightly desperate status). However, other couples and the public weren’t convinced and they were voted the least compatible by their fellow islanders. The public then booted her out, leaving Anton single… again!
Maura certainly set the screen alight – going in for the kill with Tommy. Her actions seemed very full on and she caused controversy with her full-on mannerisms. Unfortunately, it didn’t pay off and Tommy picked Molly. She’s trying her luck with Tom now, in a more toned down way.
This one certainly raised a few eyebrows when she was found laying on the sun lounger first thing in the morning. Long legs, perfect body and tan, guys looked – and girls looked. No girl felt safe. For now she seems to be focused on Danny and Anton. Is it bye-bye Yewande?
