Serie A, aka Serie A TIM is the top flight league in Italian football. The winner of the league is awarded the Coppa Campioni d’Italia.
Serie A has been around for over 80 years since the 1929-30 season. Primarily it was organized by Lega Calcio; however, in 2010 the Lega Serie A was created for the first time. This is considered by many to be one of the beast footie leagues in the world – and possibly the most tactical.
As testament to its strength, Serie A has produced the highest number of European Cup finalists.
Serie A clubs have reached the final of the competitions an incredible 27 times; they’ve won an impressive 12 of those times. The Italian league is ranked 3rd amongst all European leagues, behind La Liga and The Premier League – ahead of Bundesliga.
The current champions are Juventus and they look to be making strides to keeping their place at the top of the tree.
